Blanche C Hurless

Blanche C. Hurless passed away on June 1, 2023 at the age of 105. She was born on September 5, 1917 to the parents of Samuel and Stephanie Rigotti in Pittsburg, PA but spent most of her life in Ohio where she and husband Roger raised their five children; Karen Custer, Ty (Carol) Hurless (deceased), Pat (Dale) Whitman, Randi (Jim) McFarland, and David (Karen) Hurless. Blanche was very active in the Canton Church of the Nazarene where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, and Missionary President. She was also passionate about the game of Skip-Bo and challenged family and friends alike at every chance! She and Roger moved to Florida in their later years to fulfill a lifelong dream. They enjoyed swimming, walking, bicycling, and entertaining family. Roger died in 2002 after celebrating 60 years of marriage. This prompted a move to Sudlersville, MD where Blanche lived with her son for 3 years. She relocated to an assisted living facility in Pine Bluff, AR the last ten years of her life where she was lovingly cared for by her granddaughter, Jenny Lay and a dear friend, Carol Key. She eagerly participated in any and all activities at the center and became a prayer warrior for her children, 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Blanche will always be remembered for her faith and love of life and family. Memorial services are TBD.
