Blanche Moody

KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Blanche Moody, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 19, 2008.
Born in Bristol Tennessee, on July 12, 1919, a daughter of the late Rowland L. and Sally Campbell DeFreece, she had resided in this area her entire life.
Mrs. Moody was a homemaker and was a member of Orebank Freewill Baptist Church and later attended Liberty Chapel.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Clifton L. Moody in 1978; sons, Roy C. Moody and Randall C. Moody; son-in-law, Wayne Russell; great-grandson, Christopher C. Moody; and brother, Clarence DeFreece.
Survivors include her children, Patsy Russell of Kingsport, Wanda Freet and husband Patrick of Tucson, Ariz., Edgar R. Moody and wife Louise of Kingsport, Faye L. Trent and husband Ed of Church Hill, Tenn., Leta M. Dingus and husband Dannie of Kingsport, Cookie Browder and husband Wayne of Blountville, Tenn., Randy G. Moody and wife Phyllis of Blountville and Tim Moody and wife Rose of Limestone, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Shirley Salley and Dora Horne.
The family would like extend a special thanks to her caregivers, Shirley, Mary Alice, Donna and hospice staff.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at East Lawn Funeral Home and at other hours at the residences of the children.
Family funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Andy Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be sons and sons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray, Bill and J.B. Moody
