Found myself recently thinking of Blessed and looking through these pictures was a refreshing way of seeing and remembering the great man. I remember first meeting him in London and instantly being overawed by this man, with his humble, funny and charismatic way! My first time over in America and witnessing his booming vocals at Camp Kon-O-Kwee, never before had I met someone whose voice could carry such a distance, with the Juna boys instantly falling into line! He was the personification of altruism and his ear was always available for anyone that needed to confide in him. I remember forming a prayer circle with him and his family and feeling the power of love and belief. Miss you Ike!

I didn't know Blessing, but our daughter graduated HS with Peace, his sister. One year before Blessing passed, we lost our youngest sister, who also passed into God's arms at Shadyside Hospital. If Blessing's siblings are an indication of his lovely nature, and God's hand (so many described my sister the same), Blessing and my sister must surely both be with God, for God worked through them both, to help us, to teach us, to cheer us up.
I am so sorry for your loss, yet I know...he is always there, just waiting for his loved ones to arrive in their due time. This isn't our "home," it's with God. Bless all of you on the approaching year, and know he is with you.

I have known Blessing since we've met at Gladstone Middle School. We stayed in touch into our early twenties and then lost touch. I have been thinking about him a lot and tried to find him on-line when I heard of his passing. My heart goes out to the Ike family and to his beloved Bethany. He grew to be an inspiration to others and will truely be missed. My heart is broken after having heard of the loss of my true and wonderful friend. My prayers go out to Bethany and the rest of the Ike family.

I had the privilege of working with "Uncle Ike" at Camp Kon-O-Kwee for many years and I am truly saddened at the news of his passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Ike family. He was a great man and a natural leader, and was a huge part of what made Kon-O-Kwee the special place it was for all of us. He will be sorely missed.

With only 29 years on this Earth Blessing Ike stored up his treasure in Heaven where we know that neither moth nor rust can destroy. May the Lord comfort you all.

To the Ike Family:
It is with a heavy heart that I offer my sympathy in this time of sorrow. It was a pleasure to take care of Blessing on 7 west in the few months that I was working on the floor. He always had a smile on his face or something uplifting to say. He was an extraordinary person and will never be forgotten. My prayers go out to your family in this time of need.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Bethany and all of Blessing's family. i had the honor and priviledge of working with Uncle Ike at Kon-o-Kwee for many years and it never ceased to amaze me at what an impact he could make on even those who only met him for a moment. He was truly one of the most amazing, giving people I've ever encountered and he, and his contagious energy, will be missed.

Dear Ike family,
my heart is truly saddened today as I read of this loss and my heart goes out to all of you! I must echo the words already so well spoken of other's because when I think of Blessing (and really this goes for any of the IKe children) all I see is a smile and a glow on his face and that's how he will be remembered until we are able to see him and his smile again on the great day of the Lord. This is what makes us look even more forward to heaven! I know he will be missed and pray the Lord comfort you and strengthen you all in this time! I enjoyed being able to know him and teach him in sunday school @ Praise assembly of God.

Many of the nurses from Shadyside Hospital, 7 west would like the Ike family to know that it was an honor to care for Blessing through the last several years. The Ike family showed the medical staff the power of prayer, and faith in Christ throughout Blessing's many admissions in the hospital. I acknowledge the many times Blessing showed us what the power of his faith could overcome. My prayers are with all of you that are sadden by his departure from this world. May we all find comfort from the Lord.

To the IKE family,
I would like to send my condolences to you. I met Blessing at Gladstone Middle School (Class of 1992). We were in the "smart" classes back in those days.
Blessing was always secure with himself and always stood his ground. My memories of him revolve around sports, trading cards, and Michael Jordan....those were good times..
To Bethany,
I do not know you personally, but through Blessing's myspace page, Blessing's love for you is vast and the meaning of TRUE, UNCONDITIONAL, EVERLASTING LOVE.....
May god be with you during this trying time...

Ike's humor, fun-loving spirit and energy were contagious! I feel fortunate to have spent many summers with him at Kon-O-Kwee...those of us that spent time there, always talk about the "Kon-O-Kwee Magic" - Uncle Ike was a huge part of that magic and he will forever be remembered there, and by all of us that knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time...sending lots of Fawna, Gena, Sena, Teen, and of course Juna love his way!

I offer my sincere condolences to all of Blessing's family and friends. I went to college with Blessing and always remember how much fun he always had, how much he loved life, how much he loved being out on a dance floor, and how his smile was infectious. I know that he is at peace now and that his memory will be kept alive by all of those whose lives he somehow touched along the way.

My name is Amber (Douglas) McCallister, and I went to high school with Blessing at Greater Works Academy. I didn't know him as well as others in our class, but he was our daily ray of sunshine. It was hard to see him without a smile on his face. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him in a very positive way. I know the Lord used him greatly throughout his life because I could see the hand of God on him. Blessing was truly a blessing to those who longed for God and His presence in their life. I am so very sorry for your loss, but know that Blessing's life was a vessle that God used to pour out His love onto the rest of us. He will be sorely missed. Now, in his absense it is our responsibility to become that daily reminder of the love of God that was so clearly seen through him by others. We must carry on the torch that he upheld each and every day. We must carry on and honor his memory through the spreading of the good news of Jesus Christ.
May God bless you and hold you close as you remember and cherish Blessing's life. My He fill your life with peace, love, and compassion just like he did for Blessing.
