Bob Carr Bandy

Bob worked for me several years; I helped him build his house in Buckingham. We were good friends. Friday nights we would go to Shoney's Restaurant in Farmville to eat shrimp and then on to the Moose Club. I remember once Bob took off on his motorcycle and trailer and went to California and back. A free spirit; you never knew what he was going to do next.

A beautiful soul; so caring.

I still can't believe Bob is gone. He was the best person I have ever met. I met Bob at the Amelia bluegrass festival 7 years ago and he became one of our family. Bob#1 always had a story or joke to tell. We all loved Bob Bandy and it won't be the same without him. Rest in peace Bob Bandy, we miss you.

Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was one of my hunting and partying buddies in Buckingham. He worked for me for a while and I helped build his house here. Occasionally Bob still visited us. We'll miss Bob and his sense of humor.

On behalf of Bob’s Big Creek High School classmates, we are deeply saddened to learn of Bob’s death. He was such a fine, caring person, and we shall miss him very much. Carolyn, please know that you and his daughter are in our thoughts and prayers. Even though we could not be there with you on Monday, we were standing by your side in spirit and in thought.
May our Lord cradle you and Hope in His loving arms, give you comfort, strength, and peace during this difficult moment in life’s journey.

We met Bob at the Amelia Bluegrass Festival in May of 2008. Since then we became friends and would always see him at the festivals and would eat together. We camped beside each at the Amelia Festival on 08/13/09. What a tragic thing to happen to such a special man. My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

I am so sorry to hear about this tragic death. Even though I hadn't seen Bob in a few years, I will always remember his visits to our Grandparents, and his stories with his accent and big laugh! My thoughts are with Carolyn and everyone who knew him.

Carolyn,So sorry about Bob. We loved him.He was a fun loving guy. We will miss him as we do all who have gone before. Cousins,Shirley,Betty,Sue,Louise and Bonnie.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
