Bob G. King, born February 22, 1937, passed away peacefully to his eternal home on Monday, October 24, 2022 at the age of 85. Bob was a former resident of Seymour, and his current home was in Goree.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Nadine King of Seymour and his son, Rob King of Weatherford.

Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sue; a daughter, Kim and Rick Decker of Goree; a sister, Brenda and William Breland of Taos; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bob began his banking career in September of 1958 at the Seymour First National Bank and was employed by Farmers National Bank of Seymour in March of 1983. He went on to become President of Farmers National in July of 1990. He retired from banking in 2001.

Throughout his career, her served his community in many capacities. He served as president of Seymour Chamber of Commerce, was a board member and vice chair of the Seymour Hospital Authority, served on Baylor County Heart Association, the Seymour Industrial Foundation, was a member of the Lion's Club and vice president of Seymour Golf and Country Club.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Seymour. Of all the advice and mentorship he offered over the years, the most important question he asked of anyone was "Do you know Jesus?"

Services will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Brenda Breland and Rev. Cody Dykes officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 6:30 Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to Seymour Meals on Wheels or Compassion International, www.compassion.com.
