I just learned of Bob's death from a friend. I am so sorry I did not know about it sooner, I would have been to visitation for sure. One of the first jobs, real job, I ever had was at MS State in 1970,with Bob Moulder as my boss. The Public Information office was the best place to work, with the best people. Bob was never like a boss, just the best friend. My heart is sad but my memories are joyful. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I first met Bob Moulder in 1953 when I came to the Clarion-Ledger right out of college . As a cub reporter on assignment, I often went with Bob to cover a story.
I remember him as a good photographer, a gentleman who loved his wife and two small children, a man with a most positive attitude and quick smile.

We lost touch for over fifty years, then about three years ago, he learned I still lived in Jackson. We met at Scrooge’s for lunch and were still there three hours later talking. When he first sat down, he leaned forward in his seat and said, “I need to tell you right off that I am seeing a woman I care about deeply.” I knew beforehand of his wife’s death and was pleased for him.

When I met Cecilia I knew they were a team; right for each other. They complemented each other’s talents and gave each other emotional support.

For the past three years I have had the pleasure of being a friend to both of them. Bob was one of a kind and I will miss him.

WAS LIKE LOSING A BROTHER WHEN I READ ABOUT BOB MOULDER THIS MORNING...IT BRINGS RUSHING BACK MEMORIES OF OUR DAYS TOGETHER AT THE PAPER, DURING THE WILLIAM WINTER 75 CAMPAIGN, THE BOOK "SHRINES TO YESTERDAY" WHICH WE DISTRIBUTED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AROUND THE COUNTRY DURING MY TENURE AT THE A & I BOARD AND THE MANY, MANY MISSISSIPPI STATE FOOTBALL AND OTHER EVENTS WE ATTENDED. YOU WILL BE MISSED MORE THAN YOU KNOW.

Bob was a wonderful boss and friend. He was a positive influence in my life, professionally and personally. My heart goes out to you, David and Patty, and to all of his family. He will be missed, but he had a great life...and was forever young.

Although I only knew Bob personally for a few years, reading his books made me feel that I had known him for many. He was that talented. I'll miss his kind spirit and sweet words.

Bob didn’t know when he would write 30 to his life story, but he knew what would make him close his keyboard.

Bob was one of the most courageous people I knew. I’ll bet that he was smiling when he closed the lid.

David and Patty: I share your loss as Bob was a great friend to me and others as well as a great dad to you. He and his writings will be missed by many. A strong man with a zest for life and love.
