Bobbie Hughes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 19, 2018.

Sister Bobbie Jean McKissack-Hughes was born May 12, 1942 to Murray and Alberta McKissack in Portageville, MO. On Wednesday, February 14, 2018 Sister Hughes received her admissions ticket and entered Heaven's Gates. The Master spoke, "Good and faithful servant come on in." upon hearing his voice, she departed St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR.

Sister Bobbie, along with two sisters Willie Ruth and Lestean were raised by their grandmother, Lucinda Lewis in Burdette, AR.

She is preceded in death by eight siblings: Rosalie, Juanita, Molly Mae, Pearlie Mae, Zettie Dee, Cora Lee, Elbert and L.A.

Sister Bobbie confessed her faith in christ at an early age at New Galilee (formerly known and First Baptist). She was a member until her departure. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and loved fellowshipping with other churches and sitting in on their worship services, She never passed on an opportunity to tell about the goodness of the Lord. She never met a stranger and she never backed down on any situations. Sister Bobbie was very stern as many people thought, but those who "truly" knew her knew that she would give you her last. She loved her family and was truly the Rock for them.

Sister Bobbie leaves to cherish her memories: two sons John Dale Hughes (Sherron) of Mufresboro, TN and J.M. Patterson of Osceola, AR, four daughters Trudy Hughes, Terrie Hughes, Amilya Scott and Halie Scott of Blytheville, AR, two sisters Willie Ruth Pollins of Benton Harbor, MI and Lestean Lynom of Fort Wayne, IN; brother-in-law Clyde Pollins of Benton Harbor, MI; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and god-children.
