What can I say? I'm devastated by the news of the death of my boyhood hero Bobby Allison. As a young boy growing up in rural Missouri I worshipped Royals third baseman George Brett and Bobby Allison. I told my high school freshman advisor that my career goal was to move to Hueytown AL and be a mechanic for the Allisons. Now 57, a realtor living in Kansas City those dreams quickly changed but my love and admiration for Mr. Allison never wavered. When the Kansas Speedway opened I hoped it would bring Mr. Allison for an autograph session but that never happened. My dream came to an end Sunday morning with the news of his passing but my love and admiration never will.....as will my forever gratitude for helping this little Missouri boy dream of what could be? Oh, and yeah I still root against the Pettys! RIP Bobby Allison

Thoughts and prayers to the entire Allison family. I had the honor of meeting Bobby a few years ago, and am thankful for the memories. He was an amazing person. I LOVED to listen to him talk about racing, he was truly passionate about the sport. He also loved his fans. RIP Bobby.

Bobby will be greatly missed! Though I never met him in person, He was one of my favorite NASCAR drivers ever. When I heard the news he passed, my heart broke into pieces. I wrote him a letter a while back and I received a lovely signed autograph of him! One thing I can say is he cared about his fans! May he rest in peace.
