Bobby, also known as MOKEY by family and friends passed away May 3, 2025, at the age of 82 and entered into his eternal life at Mother Francis Hospital, Tyler, Texas.

Mokey was raised in Tyler, beginning his schooling at Marsh Elementary and finishing at John Tyler Class of 1961. He spoke of his youth as a wonderful time growing up in Tyler riding his bike from his home on Confederate Street to the Liberty Theater to watch Saturday matinees.

He became an electrician following in the footsteps of his father Truman Lee Bevis who owned the family business Bevis Electric for many years along with his brother Leland Bevis, his nephews and other family members who joined the electrical trade from Local 1151 Tyler, Texas. He and his wife Debbie spent several years in California where he worked in the trade and helped train many apprentice electricians, he always felt this was a special time in his life.

He also spent time as a bakery/deli buyer with Skaggs Alpha Beta and Security for Holly Lake Ranch.

Mokey was preceded in death by his parents Truman and Lorene (Baird) Bevis, sister and brother-in-law Jean and Bill Kee, and brother Leland Bevis.

He is survived by his wife Debbie of Holly Lake Ranch, daughter Michelle Sandlin and husband Scott, daughter Deana Demoret and husband Dave, son Dustin Laughlin and wife Casie, son Phillip Laughlin and wife Katie and son Michael Bevis. Ten granddaughters: Bianca Ohlmeier and husband Austin, Natasha Bevis, Megan Bevis, Jordan Ortiz and husband Alec, Dani Sandlin, Rivers Ogg, Sami Sandlin, Rylee Ogg, Hutton Laughlin and Evyn Laughlin. Three grandsons: Micah Bevis, Jax Laughlin and Chase Laughlin. Great-granddaughter Nova Rae Espinoza and great-grandson Shay Freyne. His very special niece Tracy Shubert and husband Ricky, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held Sunday June 1, 2025 at 2:00pm at the Whitehouse

Cemetery, 201 Memory Lane, Whitehouse, Texas, followed by a Celebration of Life at the home of his niece Tracy, 21421 CR 2182 Whitehouse, Texas.

Bobby lived across the street from me on Confederate. Mokey, Evie and I, from age 7, played together all through elementary. I remember him as a very sweet boy and a fun playmate. Great childhood memories. RIP Mokey.
