Bobby Sherman, a teen idol of the 1960s and '70s who had hits like "Little Woman" and "Julie, Do Ya Love Me," as well as starring on TV in "Here Come the Brides," died June 24, 2025, after fighting kidney cancer at the age of 81.
After getting his start in entertainment singing on the TV variety series "Shindig!" Sherman made a splash on the airwaves with his breezy pop songs. 1969's "Little Woman" was his biggest hit, but he also made the Top 10 with singles like "La La La (If I Had You)," "Julie, Do Ya Love Me," and "Easy Come Easy Go."
While his singing career was on the rise, Sherman also began acting with guest spots on "Honey West" and "The Monkees." He went on to star in "Here Come the Brides" as the stammering logger Jeremy Bolt. His many other TV appearances included "The Partridge Family," "The Mod Squad," "Murder, She Wrote," and "Emergency!" The latter offered Sherman's fans a preview of his career change.
After years in show business, Sherman stepped away in the 1970s to train as a paramedic. He served with the Los Angeles Police Department for decades, working as a certified medical emergency technician. He trained police recruits in first aid and CPR, and he worked directly with the public, often surprising those he treated when they recognized him from his earlier career.
Sherman's fans remembered him on social media, like @Sneakers1957 on the platform X: "Sad to read that Bobby Sherman has passed away. He was my 1st TV star boyfriend & I still loved him even though he had the nerve to get married to someone other than me. I was 13...but he could have waited. [smile] Sounds like he was a good guy." And the Los Angeles Women Police Officers and Associates also paid tribute to Sherman on X: " We're saddened to learn of the passing of Bobby Sherman, a beloved '60s teen idol and dedicated LAPD Reserve Officer. Beyond the spotlight, Bobby gave back through public service, making a lasting impact on our Department and the community."

My sincere condolences to Brigitte, Christopher & Tyler, and all the grandkids. To John Stamos: thank you for staying by their side during all of this. You are a shining example of a very good and close friend.
I wouldn't wish cancer on my worst enemy, let alone a wonderful man like Bobby and his family. He faced it with dignity and bravery. I'm thrilled that Bobby is no longer in any pain, and never will be again.
My father died from metastasized cancer at home, too. It got pretty rough on all of us towards the end.
I'm sure St. Peter ushered Bobby right into the front door of the Pearly Gates!
"in God's House there are many, many rooms." Bobby, go and pick out the room(s) where you can experiment with all your musical talents!
Rock on, dear Bobby!! You are gone, but never forgotten.

I will always miss you Bobby. I was such a huge fan of Here Come the Brides...never missed an episode. When you played at the Anaheim Convention Center for the first time my girlfriend Cathy I went with her mother...you were our very first concert...after spending the day across the street at Disneyland, and after the show we went back, probably until closing. I had pictures of you all over my walls... only you...and I remember all the Tiger Beat magazines I had with you prominently on the cover! Your death made me so sad for days. I listened to your first the albums several times but on the first one I kept listening and singing along to Seattle and Little Woman...I really love the words in Seattle because it brings back memories to me of things that happened on Here Come the Brides...it's beautiful. R.I.P. Bobby...the first crush for this teenybopper in the late 60's and early 70's!!! You will never be forgotten and you life after performing was an inspiration to all!

You were my teen idol. You brought me so much joy. I was so heartbroken to hear the news. When I was younger my parents took me to your concert and I made "love beads" and threw them to you and you caught them! I will never ever forget that. You will live on forever. RIP and God Bless to the family.

Like many women in my age range, Bobby Sherman was one of my teen idol "crushes." Enjoyed watching him on the TV show "Here Comes The Brides," hearing the music and reading about him in the teen magazines. Seems like whenever one of our 'faves' pass away, a part of our youth goes away with them. RIP Bobby, and thank you for the years of entertainment and for your service in the law enforcement field.

We fans are still so devastated that you have left us, Bobby.
I've always wanted to tell you that the lives you have saved, either directly or indirectly (teaching CPR, etc.) are many times more important than all of the screaming mimi tweens during your Teen Idol heyday. Although I now know how inspiring you were to many tweens who were going through a dark period in their lives. I hope you knew how much you helped all of them.
I feel certain that God welcomed you directly into the front gates of heaven. Keep on singing with that incredible choir of angels!
Peace and Love,
Denise

To be honest, I had a man-crush on Bobby. He was everything I wasn't: talented, good-looking, etc.. He seemed so authentic. Even though it has been decades since his fame, I've taken his death hard. The more I have learned about him, the more impressed I am. I KNOW all his fans miss him, but the loss must be more profound for those who knew him well than anyone can imagine. My most sincere condolences to his family. Thank you for sharing him with us.

My childhood dream came true at the teen idol Tour Aug 15,1998. My twin sis and I couldnt attend his Chgo concert back in the day when we had to be 10 or 11 yrs old. Parents said we were too young to go alone. Our bedroom walls had ceiling to floor posters of Bobby,Donny Osmond and David Cassidy, mostly Bobby posters. I was blessed to still be able & "grow up" hearing of Bobby , tv shows, and had we had Internet way back then, Im sure I would have had a big collection of Youtube. Which I do now because Ive searched alot of those tv appearances. Bobby was humble & selfless. May he continue being the shining light with his gorgeous smile and personality to those in Heaven . My condolensces to Chris & Tyler and his grandchildren .

Bobby will be missed by so many. I was blessed with meeting him in 2000 at a Bobby Sherman Convention. Those memories have lasted me for years, giving a smile whenever I think of them. He truly lived a life many aspire to, helping others and navigating life with charm and grace. At 68, I still have a sacred box of photos, music and memorabilia gathered when a teen - I am going through now and smiling as I remember the man who provided so much joy to many of us.

My 1st love. I am proud to be still in love with him. Bobby was one of those rare good guys. So often you grow up to discover the reality of a person is far different than their image - not so with Bobby.
