Bobby Joe Smith

Just today when this memory came up my Brother in Law that was the first minister called under Bro Smith´s ministry posted on FB the remembrance of how Bro Smith in his most humble way explained to a wealthy businessman in Charlotte what God had been doing for our church and he told him of the vision God had given him for our church. It was a miracle because the land for our new church wasn´t sold to us but it was gave to us free and clear.
I miss Bro Smith and wish a million times I could talk to him but one day after Jesus ushers me into Heaven I will have that talk with Bro Smith my first pastor that loved me and everyone of his flock.

On That Great Day

What will it look like on that great day
When we leave this world and pass away
What friends will remember and be able to say
He lead me to Jesus and paved the way
Will our hands be clean and covered in blood
By the One who died, suffered and loved
Our only hope on that great day
Is in Jesus our Savior who paved our way

I love you Pastor Smith! You lead me to Jesus and paved the way!

I am very grateful Bishop Bobby Smith obeyed the call to become a minister of the gospel. If not, I may not have been drawn to the alters of Yorkwood Church of God and given my heart to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At the age of sixteen, when few people noticed, I was a desperate sinner who needed God. Bobby Smith gently lead me to the Lord in the alters of Yorkwood. He married my wife and I of 30 years. Bishop Smith was always so kind and gentle, what an incredible man! May God bless and bring comfort to his family.

What an awesome man of God. I will always remember how humble and kind he was to me. He was the picture of a true servant. Farewell for now Bro. Smith. We will all see you soon.

We will always love Bro. Bobby Smith. He was an inspiration in our lives. Thank God for the souls he led to Jesus Christ.

I have many great memories with Bobby & Jerri and the family (GA's, CM's, home visits, trip to Gatlinburg, and drives to/from Lee in Cleveland). So saddened to hear the news, but I am confident that this is only a "see you later." Praying comfort for you, Jerri (and the entire family).

I was saved at the old York Road COG before the current church was built. He taught me in his sermons how to trust the Lord, depend on God, pray,fast and to live a daily and consistent life for the Lord. I loved Bro Smith for always being that steadfast person that I looked up to. He will be greatly missed.

I KNOW BROTHER SMITH AND JERRI LOVED THE LORD AND WERE PRAYING PEOPLE! HE WILL BE MISSED! PRAYING FOR THE FAMILY!THINK OF ALL THE PEOPLE HE LEAD TO THE LORD BY BEING A PRAYING MAN AND YOUNG PEOPLE THAT HAVE WENT ON IN LIFE AND ARE STILL LIVING FOR THE LORD THAT WHAT HE WAS CALL TO DO WIN SOUL TO CHRIST WHAT WE ALL ARE CALL TO DO!
