Bobby Joe Troutman, 82, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 15, 2018. Bobby served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church. He retired from American General Life Insurance Company which was formerly National Life and Accident. Bobby was an avid fisherman and enjoyed time with his family at his lake front property on Douglas Lake. He collected Indian artifacts and had an extensive collection. He owned and operated Troutman Christmas Tree Farm for many years. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Allison Troutman and Mary Rosetta Clowers Troutman; stepfather, Joe Wrinkle; daughter, Teresa Troutman Pressly; brother, Melvin Troutman; sister, Pauline Troutman Whitfield; son-in-law, Tony Cope. He is survived by wife of 61 years, Farice Evangeline (Padgett) Troutman; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, David and Cheryl Troutman and Gary and Tammy Troutman; daughter, Carolyn Troutman Cope; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sister, Martha Dinkens and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7pm at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, with a funeral service following at 7:00pm. Family and friends will meet Monday, February 19, 2018 at New Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery for a 2:00pm graveside service. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com.

My prayers and thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Bobby Joe and I grew up & went thru high school together in Marble City, and were like brother and sister. He taught me, my brothers and the kids in the neighborhood how to make notebook paper/sage grass kites. Every spring all of us kids would get up on Dance Avenue hill (across from Clowers' home) and fly our kites for hours at a time. We all played Fox & Hound on 3rd Creek as well as swam in it. .Bobby Joe was a wonderful person and friend....very easy-going and never got mad. God bless and comfort you now and in the days ahead.
