I am so sorry to see this. As a kid, my dad was a rabid horseplayer. I would accompany him to Aqueduct and Belmont almost every weekend. I saw Bobby ride many times. I used to love to watch him in the stretch, standing up in the stirrups and pushing the horse´s head up and down while very sparingly using the whip. I WANTED TO BE BOBBY USSERY SOMEDAY! But alas, I am 6´6" and 280 pounds. My dream of becoming Bobby ended when I was about 11. Lololol. Anyway, I am grateful for those memories of my childhood and watching Bobby and those other great jockeys risk life and limb on those beautiful animals. Rest in peace Maestro! This little boy loved you from afar with his binoculars!

I met Bobby in 1978 in Hialeah Florida where he lived. I was running at McDonald's park for tennis and he stopped me. With his smile and asked if I was running a marathon? And we hit it off instantly. Didn't really know who he was or what he did. So I met someone genuinely a great man and great friend. Kept in touch many years. I last saw him at Tarks in Dania Beach and he kept staring at me knowing it was me after not seeing him in years. Ask me to come visit at his home in Hollywood. Good times with a great Man. Miss and love forever.RIP
