HAMPTON - Bonnie M. Blankenship, 70, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. She was born in Oakland, CA. With her husband, she has owned and operated Mill End Carpets for over 30 years Bonnie was preceded in rest by her son, Michael Howe; parents, Jeff and Marie Mitchell. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Alvin Blankenship; children, Adam Blankenship and wife Carri of the Outer Banks, NC, Todd Howe of Hampton and Blake Blankenship of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and grandchildren, Zoe, Zac, Daniel, Erin, and Michael. The family will receive friends 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Monday, January 8, 2018 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home and Memorial Park. A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 9, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-woodfh.com to share memories and words of condolence with the family. Arrangements are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, VA 23666.

My condolences to Alvin and Bonnie's family. I will always remember the fun times we had at Plaza for karaoke and scrapbooking. She was always a joy to be around! She had a big heart and loyal to her family and friends.

Heaven has gained another Angel I met Bonnie and Alvin through my job at the Warwick restaurant, I soon became her friend. She was loving and a spitfire. We would laugh and talk like we knew each other forever. My heart goes out to Alvin ,a wonderful husband to her and father. Bonnie loved him and her children so much. The grandchildren were her world. She was such a vibrant beautiful lady and bought a smile where ever she went. Gone too soon and fought so hard. I know she's reunited with her son and out of pain and suffering. I am lucky to have her in my life and us to cross paths . Rest in peace now Bonnie ,I will carry your wonderful smile and laughter in my heart forever. Prayers for the family ,you will be greatly missed

Alvin and family... I met Bonnie at the place where we both enjoy doing, singing, dancing and laughing... I am so sorry for her passing, she is now in the arms of our Lord. to all her loved ones, our condolences and in my heart, she will stay. God bless.

Todd, Alvin, Blake, Adam and the rest of the family...My heart is saddened by the loss of my beautiful and loving friend. I am thrilled, however, that she was able to spend Christmas with the whole family, and that she is no longer in pain. I loved this woman since I met her 40 years ago.
