I just learned of Brad's passing - my Fort Smith news sources seem to have failed me. When I arrived as a young lawyer out of law school in 1977, Brad was certainly one of the most admired elder statesmen and treated me with absolute respect from the very first day. Although I was never in the same firm, he was always a great mentor and we could laugh with gusto.

Brad & I grew up together from grade school and were the best of friends. We went to Church & Boy Scouts together. Brad got his Eagle scout award a year before Clark Bumbarner & I got our Eagle award. His was a great guy and I will sure miss him.

A classmate of Brad's in high school, I remember him as an outstanding young man in all commendable ways. Always returning to our hometown for class reunions, he sometimes served as keynote speaker and shared his wit and humor with us. We will miss him and will always feel privileged to have known him.

I had the privilege of serving as one of Judge Jesson's law clerks while he was Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. He was a fine man, always polite and civil to his fellow judges, and an excellent Chief Justice. My condolences to his family.

Mary Ellen and family: We were saddened to learn of Brad' passing. The people of Arkansas and much of the nation have lost a true leader, educator, jurist, community supporter and an all- around gentleman. His family was the most important thing in his life, but he always found time to support and recognize others. He made us feel special in our personal and professional relationships with him. What a sad, sad loss! Brad was such a fine man...a star in so many lives... certainly in the Barton family all these many years. I want very badly to come to Fort Smith for the celebration of his life, but am not able to do that at this time. Mary Ellen, I hope to see you in the near future. My thoughts are with you and all your family.

Thoughts and prayers are with you. In 1994, as a single mother, legal assistant, working at Hardin, Jesson, Dawson and Terry, Mr. Jesson was so kind, always asking about my children. I will cherish his kindness and consideration.

I am so proud that I got to be friends with Mr. Jesson. He was/is legendary! He was so kind, so smart, so effective.... such a wonderful servant leader. He was so distinguished and yet so approachable all at the same time. I saw him in action for his clients and I saw his tender care and respectful ways as they were rendered. What a wonderful family man and what a great man in every sense. I just know in my heart that God is awfully proud of the awesome servant leader, Mr. Brad Jesson.

Dear Mary Ellen, Cindy, Jennifer, Deana and Mary Beth, I am saddened to hear about Bradley's passing. He has been a kind friend, mentor, confidant, advisor, teacher and partner to me, and to Dad. Bradley has left an indelible impression upon me, the legal community and upon society as a whole. I have known him virtually my entire life and know that he has been a good Christain, wonderful husband, parent and grandfather. His absence creates a tremendos void and he will be sorely missed. I know you miss him. Please accept my condolences, and let me know if I ever can do anything for you or your precious family. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

To the Jesson family, please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. I never met the Honorable Judge Jesson, but I have worked with and for his daughter, Jennifer for the past 8 years. She often spoke of her father with such admiration and love that I could tell that all of her wonderful qualities in character are a direct influence from this good man.
