Bradley HOSSACK Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 4 to Aug. 8, 2021.
BRADLEY THORNTON HOSSACK 'Brad' Bradley Thornton 'Brad' Hossack, 62, of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, surrounded by his loving family. Brad is survived by his devoted husband, Carlos da-Silva Hossack; their children, Mariana and Shirley Hossack; his daughter, Amber Moore; his siblings, Blake and his wife Janet and Lisa Hossack; his nieces and nephews, Kate (Hossack) Gray, Patrick, Hannah, and Nelson Hossack, Luiz Guilherme Espigar, and Ana Carolina Espigar; his in-laws, Sebastiana Malaquias and Sandoval Martins; his children's mother, Ana Maria Vieira da-Rocha; along with many close friends and coworkers. He was predeceased by his parents, the late Kenneth and Shirley (Thornton) Hossack of Peterborough, ON. Born and raised in Toronto, ON and educated in Peterborough, ON, Brad graduated with honors from the University of Guelph where he received a Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering. He lived in Africa from the age of 3 to 5 with his parents and brother. Brad began his extensive career of over 32 years in regulatory affairs, working with Baxter Healthcare Corporation in Alliston, ON. His career focused on regulatory affairs and quality in global markets at Baxter and at his subsequent employers, Boston Scientific of Natick, Mass and Stryker Corporation of Kalamazoo, MI. His career advanced to executive level positions in the industry where he was a global leader in his field. While in Boston, he received certification from Harvard University and worked as adjunct professor for three Master's RA courses at Northeastern University. Brad retired from his successful career in 2020 to focus on his health, family and friends. When he wasn't working he enjoyed reading, listening to podcasts, loved politics, real estate, the great Canadian outdoors, spending time in the sun, boating, camping, and gardening, especially. He loved the family farm, travelling, international cultures, food, and checking off his bucket list. His passion was, above all, the support of human rights and equity. He loved living in Shrewsbury, Fort Lauderdale and Uberaba, Brazil and visiting hthe family farm near Peterborough. Friends and family will remember Brad as loving, adventurous, rare, humble, successful, practical, loyal, a devoted husband, nurturing, kind and generous; having a deep sense of humanity and a fabulous sense of humor. He was the king of sarcasm, quick wit and self-deprecation. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Hossack family from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Further memorials are in planning for Ontario and Brazil.

I am shocked to learn of Brad's passing. He was my neighbour in our residence at the University of Guelph and we shared many a laugh each and every day. May he RIP.

To all of Brad's family and close friends I pray for your fortitude as we remember the amazing person Brad was. As a Stryker colleague of Brad's I always remember him as a gentle, kind, and compassionate person. He was great to work with and is dearly missed and fondly remembered. I pray he rests in peace and may his legacy live on in our hearts.
