Franklin Hamilton Obituary

On Monday, May 17, 2010. Franklin D.R. Hamilton, Sr. age 73, of Medford, OR, passed away in his home. Surrounded by, his family and friends. He joined the military just before his sixteenth birthday, and was honorably discharged years later as a Sergeant First Class. He worked as a Master Electrical Engineer for most of his life. With an occasional detour, but always returned to what he loved. After leaving Massachusetts in the mid 80’s. He remarried and took on a family. Divorcing several years later, he kept in contact with the children he had grown to love. Late in his life he found his soul mate and they married. He was the beloved son of Wesley and Gladys Hamilton. He was preceaded in death by his parents, his wife Debbie in 2007. His son Franklin D.R. Hamilton Jr. in 2004. He is survived by his children, Charles Hamilton of Rumford, ME; William Hamilton of Medford, OR; Christin Allen of Hoosick Falls, NY; Amber Valdez of Clarksville TN; Meadow Zafranco of Durango CO; Sterling Ford of Olympia WA; and several grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother Martin and his wife Alice Hamilton of Newburyport, MA; and his cat Cally. The Funeral and internment will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery, in Eagle Point OR. Thank you to my son Billy for giving me the opportunity to spend my last years with you being loved and cared for; for taking me home so that I could die with my dignity and be surrounded by those who loved me most. Miranda for being Billy’s rock though all of this and staying by my side until the end, For my daughter Meadow who came from Colorado to care for me, giving me the chance to hear your loving voice one more time before my journey here was done. Thank you all for all you have given to me in life and death. My Father Known as Popee or Pop was a lover of animals and lived a life of honor. He had a great since of humor One of his fondest sayings were “you can have want in one hand and Shit in the other and see which one fills up faster�. You never pushed me too hard dad…. Just enough to make me fly.
