Brandon James Myhre
1996–2017

Brandon James Myhre, 20, of Santa Clarita, CA passed away the night of Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Brandon was born July 8, 1996 in Spokane, WA to Walt and Diana (Vegely) Myhre. In 1999 the Myhre family moved to San Antonio, TX where Brandon went to school at Helotes Elementary and Garcia Middle School. During this time he enjoyed being a country kid at their home in Helotes. He raised 4H animals, starred in many local plays, played football, rode his dirt bike and found a love for operating dirt moving equipment!

In 2010 Brandon decided to take his acting career to a new level and the family moved to Los Angeles, CA where he worked hard and achieved a level of success. You may have seen him in an episode of Disney's "Jesse", on HBO's "True Blood" or Fox's "Enlisted". He also received a Leading role in the new movie coming out in December called "David's Dinosaur". He graduated from Hart at Home High School in 2015.

Even though Brandon's acting career was headed for great success, he decided to pursue other job interests in the construction and heavy equipment-operating field. He worked for several local companies over the last couple of years. During his time here in Santa Clarita, Brandon was active in several community projects from events with "The Shoe Crew" and "Million Meals" efforts through Real Life Church. He was also a member of the production team at Real Life Church and had a fondness for photography and video production.

Brandon was known for his infectious smile, witty sense of humor and loving personality. He had a heart for helping others and would've given the shirt off his back to help someone.

Brandon is survived by his parents Walt and Diana, his older sister Ashley and his younger sister Mackenzie. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Ed and Juanita Vegely of Mariposa, CA; as well as his paternal grandparents Walter Myhre Sr. of Manteca, CA and Jenny Parker of Fremont, CA. In addition, he is survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many friends who adored him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor him by considering donations to the "Brandon James Myhre Foundation" (https://www.gofundme.com/brandon-james-myhre-foundation).

The Brandon James Myhre Foundation is being started to bring awareness to suicide prevention among the youth and young adult population of today. Too often the younger generation is so connected to their technology they don't even tell their friends how important they are or that they care about them. Our vision is to start teaching them the importance of conversation and personal interaction~ how to unplug and start communicating with each other on a more personal level in hopes to identify when someone is troubled and weary. Please join our crusade to bring back the front porch conversations among the youth of today!! #Brandonmyhreliveson

Please accept my deepest condolences. I am very shocked and saddened upon discovering this news. Brandon was one of my best students his 6th and 7th grade years at Jefferson Middle School. I was so blessed to have him as a part of my theatre program those two years. To this day I refer to him every year to my students when talking about theatre and film. He was such a joy to work with and was always so focused on giving his best on the stage. I am truly privileged to have had him and his family as a part of my life. They have left a beautiful imprint on my life.

My deepest condolences to you and your family, Diane. It's hard to find any words which may cheer you up. You've lost a best friend and treasured family member, which is something that will take time to rebound from. There is a song by Building 429, Where I Belong. I change the chorus lyrics and sing it like this:

All I know is he's at home now
This was not where he belonged
He left this world, now he's with Jesus
Wrapped up in His loving arms.

Love and prayers for your family. The description of Brandon is exactly how I remember him at Garcia; infectious smile, witty, and kind. I know his foundation will save lives and have a profound impact in the lives our youth. I wish it had been started in time to save his beautiful life!

"We give back to you, O God, those whom you gave to us. You did not lose them when you gave them to us, and we do not lose them by their return to you. Your dear Son has taught us that life is eternal and love cannot die. So death is only a horizon and a horizon is only the limit of our sight. Open our eyes to see more clearly, and draw us closer to you that we may know that we are nearer to our loved ones who are with you. You have told us that you are preparing a place for us, prepare us also for that happy place, that where you are we may also be always, O dear Lord of life and death." William Penn (1644-1718)

Hoping that you and your family find comfort in each other, while soothing your anxiety during this trying time. God's Word the Bible gives comfort where it says "..I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears..." May the love of friendship, and family carry you through your grief. Remember to share kind, and loving memories with each other to bring a warm smile to your faces.
