Brandon Kelly Pennington

I'm so very sorry to hear of Brandon's passing. I'd known him since he was a small child living in Sandlick. He was a great kid. May God keep him in the palm of His hand and comfort his family during this very difficult time.

It is so sad to hear the news about Brandon, it was the first time I have ever thought of him with anything other than a smile. We attended Glenwood and PSHS together and I always considered him a friend. My heart goes out to everyone grieving this tragic loss.

There are very few memories I have of Glenwood and Princeton that do not include Brandon (Brad). He was a great guy, great friend and to many of us he was like a brother growing up. I hadn't spoken with Brandon in years, but often wondered where life had taken him. He was a big guy with an even bigger heart whose spirit will be with us forever. Brandon was a great person who I had the pleasure of calling him my friend through school. When I first moved here in 6th grade he made me feel welcome like I was meant to be there. And I thank you. You will always be in my heart.

This is Melissa, your cousin. Kathy called to give me the shocking news about Brandon. I honestly do not know what to say, except for the fact of how saddened and shocked I am. We plan to come up to Bastian on Thursday, so sorry we cannot make the memorial service on Saturday. As Kathy may have told you, we will be out of town. All the memories of back home, Brandon growing up beside of us, me babysitting him while you and Pat were teaching. It is so sad to think back===But we all should have wonderful memories, watching Carl Franklin and Brandon grow up, Mama, Mamie, Ruth, Ruby, Joanie,Pat and Papa and the wonderful memories we share of them---it is hard to believe all of our families passing. Everyone is so very missed.
I regret I will not be able to meet Brandon's wife and son. I am sure she is a remarkable person, especially since Brandon chose her as his wife and mother of his children. Please relay to her my deepest of sympathy and that I hope to be able to meet her one day soon.

Brandon was and IS a part of our family, just as he was the first time he traveled to Florida with us. Many times he stayed in our home and we relished what he referred to as the "Farley- Family-Fun-Time". His call to "look at these guns" always brought a smile. The ice cream sundaes that we ate at Friendly's Restaurant, and the hamburgers that he ate, and ate, and ate while we waited for him to get full - the stories that we shared, his wedding... all of this and more will always be a part of us and we thank God for letting us share in Brandon's life. Please know that we share your pain and grief because Brandon was a part of the Farley family too. Chris Haynes, Tim and Mike Law, Chad, Chris Krondon are all part of our "brood" and we are greatly grieving the loss of "our son" Brandon at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. The service on Friday was beautiful, the memories that were shared gave us all reasons to smile. He was loved and will be missed. Although I haven't seen Brandon for years, I can see from everyone's sentiments that he was still quite the character, just like he was as a little boy. I remember the first time I ever saw him- he was six-years-old and had the biggest brown puppy-dog eyes and the cutest little cheeks I ever saw. The holidays we spent with your family were the best! I always looked forward to going to your house because of all the "boy stuff" you guys were up to. It was all very exciting! Despite your age difference, I know you and Brandon were very close; you two will always be inseparable in my mind, like a matched set. I cannot even imagine the loss you must feel, and you have my deepest, most sincere sympathy.

I taught Brandon at Glenwood. He had such a beautiful smile, and was such a great kid. I hadn't seen or heard about him in years, but there are those students you never forget - and Brandon was one of the good ones! My deepest sympathy goes out to his family. May God keep you in the palm of his hand.

Growing up in Glenwood we were a close group that I thought would never separate. As life would have it, we each chose paths that took our lives in different directions. Although time and distance hindered our ability to stay connected, the memories made will last FOREVER. I feel a strong bond to each of those friends and would not trade those memories for anything. Brandon was an important part of each of our lives and will be missed. It was an honor and privilege to have grown up with him. My condolences go out to his family and loved ones.

I am so sad to hear about Brandon. My sympathies to his family and wife and son. I grew up with Brandon in Oakland Terrace and he used to call me honeycomb kid all the time. I always will remember that and him. Of course I haven't seen Brandon in years and years, i never forgot him.

Time and distance separated Brandon and I, but we could have met anywhere and started up a conversation like we just had spoken the day before.
