Brannon Mikel Boone

Brannon Mikel Boone, 29, of Waskom passed away July 10, 2010. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Aaron and Rev. Paul Navarre officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 14th, at Downs Funeral Home. Brannon Mikel Boone was born Nov. 7, 1980, in Shreveport, La., to David Enloe Boone and Peggy Hardy Boone. He was raised in Ruston, La., where he was a 1999 graduate of Ruston High School. He was a 2002 graduate of Louisiana Tech in Ruston with a degree in Professional Aviation. On July 21, 2007, he married Sheryl Hamiter in Mansfield, La. He had worked as a flight instructor at Louisiana Tech and as a Captain for Great Lakes Airlines in Denver, Colo. Brannon was a 747 Pilot for Kalitta Airlines and also flew for Pinnacle Airlines. Recently he became employed with Boone Oil Field Consulting. Brannon was an avid fisherman who loved baseball, his two German Shepherds and hanging out with family and friends. Brannon attended Open Range Fellowship in Greenwood, La. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Hamiter Boone of Waskom; father, David Enloe Boone and wife Robin of Highland Village; mother, Peggy Hardy Boone of Baton Rouge; grandmother, Mollie Hardy of Vivian, La.; two sisters, Kiley Boone Palmer and husband Nicholas of Lewisville and Molley Boone of Baton Rouge, La.; mother-in-law, Linda Hamiter of Shreveport, La.; and sister-in-law, Kelly Mesloh and husband Tom of Bossier City, La. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Sydney and Betty Boone and Lonnie G. Hardy Sr.; and his father-in-law, Dickson Hamiter. Pallbearers will be Mike Maynard, Jeff Sepalvado, Jake Hollimon, Dr. Josh Fernandes, Tom Mesloh, Aaron Vick, Billy Perdue and Matt Hughes. Downs Funeral Home
