Mary, Mary -- Your seventh birthday party was the first I ever attended when we were in the same class at the old Shaw School. Your mother hid a ring in the cake but accidentally cut that slice for me! I was terribly upset that I had to give it to you because it was your birthday present. I remember the family of geese who lived on your street and chased me all the way to the corner. You were such a nice child it was worth being scared witless to come to your house. Thank you for being in my life all those years ago and for leaving lovely memories behind.
