Brenda Colucci Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 8, 2025.
Brenda Ann (Hoppe) Colucci, 65, of Saylorsburg, PA died at her home on January 7, 2025 after a 3-year courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She will be remembered for her kindness and care, as well as many creative talents including sewing, cooking, decorating, and writing. Most of all, she will be remembered for her natural ability to maintain strong lifelong relationships.

Born October 13, 1959 in Jersey City, NJ, she was raised in Hillsdale and later Woodcliff Lake, NJ by the late Anna (Puls) Hoppe and Henry Hoppe. Brenda excelled scholastically, resulting in her winning a scholarship to the prestigious Berkeley Secretarial School in Ridgewood, NJ. Her career began working with the newly formed BMW of North America in Montvale, NJ, where she would meet her future husband, Anthony. After having her daughter, Dara, Brenda worked at D&R Country Designs in Kunkletown, PA for nearly a decade before retiring and creating her own successful eBay business.

Inheriting her family's love of travel, Brenda visited places from Australia to Hawaii to Bermuda - and many more in between. After marrying the love of her life and best friend on October 13, 1985, they continued to travel and built a wonderful life together. They visited their favorite location, the Green Mountains of Vermont, 40 times - nearly every year on their anniversary. 3 years after their daughter Dara was born in December 1990, they moved to Effort, PA, later to Blakeslee, PA, and finally to the Robinwood Village Community in Saylorsburg, PA.

A meal was never served by Brenda without a properly set table, be it a sandwich for lunch or an elaborate dinner. Brenda enjoyed making the table beautiful with the proper serving pieces always in place. One could also be assured that it did not just look great, but the food was always exceptional.

Brenda was a lifelong member of Jehovah's Witnesses, beginning with the Westwood/Woodcliff Lake Congregation in NJ to her most recent association with the Tannersville Congregation in Reeders PA. She always enjoyed being part of the congregation, working on theocratic projects, and often participating in the pioneer ministry.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 39 years, Anthony M. Colucci of Saylorsburg, PA, her daughter Dara Lynn (Nick) Parisi of Saylorsburg, PA, and her brother Gordon Henry Hoppe of Manhattan along with numerous lifelong friends and extended family members.

A remembrance of her life will be scheduled in the future.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to JW.org and St. Luke's Hospice.
