Brenda Mantooth was born to Willard and Mozella (Garrison) Mantooth on the 16th day of May, 1941, in Purcell, Okla. She departed this life on the 31st day of December, 2008 at the age of 67 years.Brenda grew up in Purcell and attended the Purcell Public School System. She will always be remembered as a Business and Restaurant Entrepreneur. Her first convenience store was the quick O on Campus in Norman, then the Chuckwagon Restaurant, the Circle H at Wayne, Okla., then Kendall's Restaurant and the Broken Spoke in Lexington, Okla. She loved to cook for her family and friends, beyond the cooking came her grandchildren -- the loves of her life whom she adored.She was preceded in death by her Parents, one son Shane Spencer and one brother Jerry Mantooth. Those who survive her include one son Shawn Spencer of Noble, one daughter Kim Lock and her husband Richard of Norman, one brother Willard Mantooth and his wife Rena of Wayne, Okla., one sister Carolyn Wall and her husband Dale of Bridgecreek, Okla., two granddaughters; Kendall and Katherine Lock of Norman, one grandson Josh Spencer of Washington, Okla. and other relatives and friends.Graveside services were Saturday, January 3, at Hopping Cemetery in Wayne, with the Rev. Rick McGee officiating.Submitted by family

I am so sorry to hear about Brenda & I am even sorrier I did not hear earlier. I remember Brenda from my earliest childhood! Brenda was always nice to me, every single time I saw her. She was a warm, supportive person. I am so, so sorry.
