Brenda Virnett McClain, of Huntsville, TX, formerly of Groveton, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at the age of seventy-two, peacefully, surrounded by her beloved family. Brenda was born on August 16, 1949, in Conroe, Texas to parents, Quint Ringo and Elba (Depue) Ringo. Brenda was a selfless woman who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was also a diligent worker and had magnificent work ethic. Brenda was employed with Texas Department of Criminal Justice for many years until her retirement. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Brenda was known for her cooking, because for family events she loved to make all her specialties. In her spare time, she loved being outdoors with the horses. She was infatuated with horses and often could be found out riding or working with them. Brenda leaves behind to cherish her memories, her sons: Jason Ahsworth and wife, Wendy of DeRidder, LA, and Quinn Ashworth and wife, Lisa of Huntsville, TX; sisters: Melba Shur of Huntsville, TX, and Janice Ringo of Katy, TX; brothers: Kelvin Ringo of Pearland, TX, Clint Ringo of Bandera, TX, and James Ringo of Riverside, TX; grandchildren: Justin Ashworth, Cole Ashworth, Jaycee Gamblin, Jennacee Ashworth, Mason Ashworth; and a host of other relatives. Brenda is preceded in death by her loving parents, Quint Ringo, and Elba (Depue) Ringo; husband: Charles McClain; grandson: Clay Ashworth. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating. Visitation will begin 1:00 pm until service time Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery.
