Brenda Joyce York

Brenda Joyce York (née Stokes), aged 83, passed away on July 26, 2024, in Lake Worth, Florida. Born on March 20, 1941, in Montgomery, Alabama, Brenda led a fulfilling life marked by her dedication to her faith, family, and profession.

Brenda was a retired nurse, having devoted 40 years to the nursing profession where she cared for countless individuals with compassion and professionalism. Beyond her career, she was deeply involved in religious activities, serving alongside her husband, Pastor Leroy York, in various churches. Brenda's commitment to her faith was evident in her personal pursuits as well; she was an avid Bible reader, taught Bible study, and was actively involved in women's and youth ministries.

She was a beloved figure not only within her family but also across her community. Brenda leaves behind a rich legacy of love anivd faithfulness. She is survived by her husband, Leroy York; her children, Tanja Randall, Sharmaine (Ricky) Taylor, Willie Randall Jr., John Randall, David Randall, Roosevelt Lewis, and Tashia Gibbs; sisters, Iantha Stokes and Wilma Figures; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Host of friends and relatives.

Brenda was preceded in death by her siblings, Cheryl Stokes, Jackie Stokes, Robin Stokes, and John Stokes Sr., as well as her ex-husband, Willie Randall, Sr.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Brenda's life will be held at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 29 Holmes Way, Cecil, Alabama, on August 10, 2024, at 12:00 pm. Following the service, a repast will take place at John Randall's house at 16927 Vaughn Road, Cecil, Alabama.

Brenda's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and her enduring love for her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
