Brent Bucholtz Obituary
Brent was a talented hard-rock drummer and guitarist who established home studios in Highland Park (Binaural Beats Studio) and Delray Beach, Florida (The Boneyard). He played at open mics throughout his life, seeking musical collaborators. His great dream was to form a band and record an album.
Brent, who lost his father at a young age, faced a lifelong struggle with mental illness. After finding stability through Thresholds, a Chicago agency that helps the mentally ill through housing and support services, he married Maria and worked at MFRI, Inc. and remained passionate about music. Brent had an inherent sweetness and concern for others but sadly his mental illness challenges eventually overwhelmed his dreams.
Private family services will take place in Jacksonville Florida.

I met Brent a few years ago and we bonded over our love for music and all things artsy. He was always kind, funny, creative, and so infectiously passionate for creating music. He reminds me to chase my dreams every time we talk and I am forever grateful to have met a soul like him in this life time. May you rest in peace my friend.

Lots of good memories of Brent as told by his uncle, Bruce, who loved him deeply, as Brent loved him. I especially enjoyed hearing that Bruce would hop in his car to go get young Brent when he had run away from home. No matter how far, Bruce would go get Brent and together they would declare: Road Trip!

Brent was a great drummer and a regular around the open jam scene in Highwood, for a while. He was one of the quirky people that made the music community more interesting and fun. I wish things could have gone differently for him, I'm glad to have met him. My condolences to his family.
