Brent Engilman Obituary
1953 - 2025
Brent Engilman of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the age of 71. A dedicated educator, coach, and mentor, Brent devoted his life to shaping young minds both in the classroom and on the field.
Born in Sun Valley, California, in 1953, Brent had a passion for teaching and coaching that spanned decades. He inspired countless students at Desert Shadows Middle School, Horizon High School, and Chaparral High School in Phoenix, as well as Crespi High School and Campbell Hall in Los Angeles. Whether guiding students academically or instilling discipline and teamwork in his players, Brent's influence was profound. His unwavering support and dedication left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of learning from him.
Beyond his professional life, Brent was a devoted family man who cherished time with his loved ones. He is survived by his ex-wife, Debra Engilman; his son, Cody Engilman; daughter-in-law, Ashley Engilman; and his four beloved grandchildren, Gabriel, Charlotte, Bella, Owen; and his brother, Jeff Engilman. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Connor, on August 15, 2024. Brent's warmth and encouragement will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and former students.
A memorial service to honor Brent's life will be held on March 29 at Pure Heart Church in Glendale, Arizona, at 11:00 a.m. His legacy as a father, grandfather, educator, coach, and mentor will live on through the many lives he touched. He will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.

My name is George Moody. I connected with Brent in Vancouver Transplant Olympics games in biking in 1993. We formed a friendship but was limited due to our distance. I´m from Battle Creek Mi. We talked by phone a couple of times. We were the same age and had the same kidney transplant plant years.
