Brett Burdick Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 13, 2024.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the death of Brett W. Burdick, 62, of Clinton CT. He passed away at home on August 3, 2024.

Brett was a hard-working, kind, and generous man who excelled at making people laugh with his quick wit and great sense of humor. He genuinely cared about others, and always asked how they were doing and what was new in their lives.

Brett was a talented innovator, who held many patents for his different inventions. An avid biker, he was in the process of creating a bicycle with great speed. He was also a skilled carpenter and furniture maker. He constantly kept busy by working on new and exciting projects.

Brett liked spending time with his beloved, loyal dog Coco - Coutsie. He and his faithful companion enjoyed going for walks, long car rides and playing fetch at the dog park.

Brett was born in San Bernadino, California on February 15, 1962. Although he lived in Clinton for many decades, he was a true California boy at heart. Brett was preceded in death by his loving wife, Susan Burdick, who passed away on October 26, 2021.

"Death is not extinguishing the light; it is only putting out the lamp because the dawn has come."

May your spirit dance above, and your soul find solace and tranquility. Rest in peace, my friend.

A tree will be planted in Brett's memory.

Brett was a good friend, he always made us laugh. He had amazing knowledge, a walking encyclopedia. Hard working and such a skilled craftsman. Quick to lend a hand to others. He called himself a Viking and he was definitely as strong as one. We enjoyed having dinner and conversations with Brett and his wife Susan. They had a real nice relationship. Brett unfortunately never completed the world´s fastest bike that he often spoke about, but if anyone could have invented and designed it, that would have been Brett. We truly will miss you buddy. I´m sure God will find a few projects for you in heaven.

Brett and I became friends at the Clinton dog park. His dog and mine were best buddies and played well together. Brett would like to tease me joking around about my dog’s name and though he loved my artwork, would tease me about that too. Brett had many fascinating stories to tell and knew many interesting facts such as cheetahs not being able to run more than a quarter mile, I think it was, before their heart failed them. He was a dear friend who I will greatly miss.

May perpetual light shine upon him.
Brett, had a way of making you feel valued when he spoke to you and he had such a creative mind. I always enjoyed talking to him.
Brett, will be missed but his memory will live in our hearts.
