Brett J. Malmquist

November 18, 2012 In the last month, there have been over 2 dozen memorial Masses prayed for you, Brett James. We will continue our prayers and look forward to our heavenly family reunion with you. "O Lord, grant those who have died the joy of Your Presence, and us who are living the happiness of knowing this."

October 18th, 2012 will mark the one year anniversary of Brett's passing. Memorial Masses will be celebrated all over the country for our Beloved Brett James.

Carl,Kathy,Cy,& Karina,We are so saddened by the loss of Brett...You are in our thoughts and prayers daily.Take care of one another and hold on to the memories of Brett for they were all very special.

I only spoke with Brett 2 times in the 4 years we went to High school together. He seemed really funny and everyone I knew seemed to have a story about him. So sorry for the loss.

Love and miss you so much Brett!! I think of you all the time. I am not strong because I want to be, I am strong because I have to be. Every time I swim I promise I am swimming for the both of us. It is so weird not being able to call or text you. I try not to think about how I will never get to see or talk to you again. Instead I take all the memories I have, all the songs we loved, the movies we watched, and all the stupid sayings we would say and it always puts a smile on my face. Thanks for visiting me in my dreams. I love you and can't wait to see you again!!!

Dear Carl, Catherine, Cy, and Karina - You've been in my thoughts and prayers since last week. Just to let you know how much EVERYONE knew that I loved Brett, about a jillion people contacted me by email to let me know what had happened. How I would have given anything to see you during this tough time! Many who were at Brett's service told me about it when it was over. He was always so thoughtful, and you could never get mad at that boy!! I talked to him frequently on email and he was always encouraging to me!!!! I'll miss him A LOT, and I'll always remember what an honor it was to coach all 3 of you!! I'll be praying for you guys! Keep the faith! I love you!!

Brett was in my nine o'clock Biology class.His was one of the first faces I saw every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Brett was a wonderful student and a wonderful person. I will miss him and remember him always for all the little things he said and did that add up to a great big memory.
My heart is with you at this time and there really are no words to express the impact of the loss of this bright and shining star we had on our campus.

My deepest condolences to the Malmquist family and Brett's friends. While I did not know Brett personally, he was a part of the Lincoln College family and my heart aches for you all today. I pray you are all able to find some sense of comfort, joy, and Peace in your memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you....I think I speak for everyone here at Lincoln College....when I say once you are a student or an employee here you become family...the other week we lost a student family member and we all feel the loss. Thank you for allowing us to have and enjoy Brett for the time he was here...We are truly sorry for the loss of Brett.

I did not have the opportunity to personally get to know this young man, but from listening to my students speak of him and the stories that all the students told at Brett's memorial service last week, it seems like he was such a bright, warm, and caring person. So many were privileged to call him friend. I am very sorry for your loss but I hope it warms your hearts to know that he touched so many peoples' lives in a way that he will always be remembered.

I'm truly going to miss you Brett. You were an amazing friend and someone I could always turn to if I ever needed anything. The times we had together hanging out were definitly great. I remember the night we went scorpion hunting and you just had to pick them up! Haha. There was never a downer moment with you. They were always great.
