Dear Baker Family, I am so saddened to hear of your loss. I got to know Brian's family when my two daughters went to his school (MLLA) and Sandy was in Laura's class. Mark and Martha, I have always admired your wonderful godly hearts. My heart goes out to you. We will be praying for all of you. David and Marian (Teske) Eckhardt

Our deepest sympathies to the Baker family. I worked with Brian at AT&T for a few years and he definitely had an impact on everyone there. He was respected and admired in so many ways. He will continue to live on through his children and in our hearts.

To Christina and the Baker family,
Dale and I received a call last night from our son Jonah telling us of the passing of Brian. It sent such a shockwave of sadness through our spirits. Jonah has such fond memories of his friendship with Brian during their days at Maranatha and ORU. May the Holy Spirit bring you comfort as only he can do at this incredible time of loss. All our love,
Amy Crissman

Dear Baker family,
I am saddened by the news of the loss of Brian. I grew up going to children's church and youth group with Brian and know what a wonderful guy he was. Your family will remain in my prayers. I pray you all feel God's comfort and peace in this difficult time. I know with certainty that we will see Brian and all fellow believers when we rejoice together in the glory of Heaven.

To all of Brian's precious family,
Our family grieves the loss in yours and we send our love and prayers. I wish you comfort, courage and the faith that lived so strongly in Brian. His beautiful mother, Martha, displays this faith on a daily basis and is an inspiration to others. May you all feel God's and Brian's presence and comfort in ALL your days. "Some die with out having really lived, while others continue to live, inspite of the fact that they have died. (unknown)

I didn't know Brian very well but I do know Laura, his sister, and I know Christina, from the Mexico Mission trip with the Rock back in 1998. My husband Dan also knew and hung out with Brian and Christina at some of the events at Living Life (LWCC) years ago.
To the Bakers, Christina and family: Our prayers go out to you during this difficult time. We pray for God's peace and contentment for all of you knowing that Brian is completely whole and at Home with Jesus.
To Chloe, Angelica, and Julia: You don't know us personally, but you are all so very important! Your daddy loved you so, and know that God is hugging you tight in His arms of love.
We send our love and prayers,
Dan and Jennifer (Dumire) Williams

And the greatest of these is love.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy.
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
It is not self-seeking, nor easily angered.
It keeps no record of wrongdoing.
It does not delight in evil,
But rejoices in the truth.
It always protects, trusts, hopes, and preserves.
There is nothing love cannot face;
There is no limit to its faith, hope, and endurance.
In a word, there are three things that last forever:
Faith, hope, and love;
But the greatest of them all is love.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
We have all heard this passage a thousand times. Martha, Mark, Christina, Laura, grandparents and girls - your journey with Brian gave life to the words, and as he became weaker, your actions became a stronger testament to this. You exemplified every single line of this verse.
Christina and Brian, I want you thank you for sharing this deeply personal, painful journey on your website. You allowed us into your most private moments, always faithful, always humbled by the actions of others, when it was others who were humbled and inspired by you. Life mirrors what you give it – the love you all spread to others came right back to you. Every single entry spoke volumes. You are all the true embodiment of what grace is.
Christina, you should have grown old and grey with Brian. I also lost my dad when I was 4 years old. But I grew up always hearing of the incredible love he had for my mom, and I know that love carried her till the day she died. You too will be carried by Brian’s immense love for you. And as I always knew how my dad loved me, the girls will always know how much he loved and treasured them and he will be a part of their lives.
I cannot begin to imagine the huge hole in your hearts and the pain you have felt watching him suffer. I have no words to help lessen that pain. But I can tell you that reading his journey has made me stop and count my blessings many times. Martha, I have treasured your friendship since we were 16. I would never in a million years have thought you would have been touched by such immense sorrow. I thought we were invincible.
There is nothing in life more valuable than the love of your family and friends. May you all somehow find peace and healing by leaning on each other.
My heart goes out to you all – with much love.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Christine her beautiful children and her family. I am so sorry for the loss of Brian. He was way too young. I will certainly miss him teasing me about JG (Jeff Gordon) and calling me Wookie, Rest in peace Brian and God bless you. You will be missed.
