I just recently learned of Brian's passing and am heartbroken for his family. I was a friend and roommate of Brian at Kansas State University and will never forget the times we spent playing basketball, watching games, and just being crazy college kids! Brian was a fierce competitor, loyal friend, and truly a caring and loving person. Though we lost contact since school, I'm happy to know that he fathered such a loving family. My thoughts and prayers remain with your family Brian....may you find peace ever after.

It is and was truly amazing to witness even a glimpse of how Brian lived. No matter what struggle or medical mystery thrown at him, he displayed joy despite his illnesses. Casting Crowns sang it best by "Praise you in the Storm." Well Brian, no more storms, no more illness, no more struggles, only peace that surpasses our understanding...May your family find peace and comfort that only God can provide. See you in the clouds. RIP Brian Bourgeois. In my 20 + years in the Air Force, Lt Brian Bourgeois was one of the finest officers I had ever worked with. We worked together in the Training Section and on several projects in the 66th Security Forces Squadron. When he arrived at Hanscom AFB, he endeared himself with the enlisted troops by allowing us to use our experience and listened to the SNCOs and even me, a TSgt at the time. You know what they say about officers that were prior-enlisted? Well this time it was true, and not just because he was prior-enlisted. Brian was a genuinely nice person who wasn't out for himself. He really had our backs and cared about his troops. He was so nice and was so comfortable with the enlisted troops, I would have to remind him of the wall that needed to exist between the two corps. But it was such a small base and we were as guilty as he was. After he left Hanscom, he always found time to reach out to me and ask me how things were at work, my family, and my health...he ALWAYS had time for that...ALWAYS. Even though he had a beautiful young family and his own concerns, he still always found the time. Reading stories about Brian, you come to a conclusion that he was easily liked and loved as a great friend, family man, and veteran. Good chance if you were a Facebook Friend of his, he "liked' your status/comments or made friendly comments on your wall. You will always be my friend. RIP Brian

LeeAnn, there are no words. My heart is breaking for all of you as you mourn the passing of Brian. As you celebrate his life, I will celebrate the fact that I had the opportunity to know Brian. I got to know much more than that smile that would light up a room, that personality that changed the atmosphere of a room - it lifted it! I will also celebrate what a kind, caring, loving person Brian was. Brian was so proud of many things, his Country, his family, and his friends. He would do anything for any of the three.

Blessed am I for having been included in his circle of friends, and watching his example.

Saying prayers of strength and comfort for your family LeeAnn.
