Brian Cassidy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 23, 2023.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Edmond Cassidy, 68, of South Windsor. He leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife Susan, sons Victor, Justin, and Ryan. Brothers Kevin and Shawn Cassidy, and sister Charlotte Stanley. He is predeceased by two brothers, Dennis and John, sister Sharon Moss.

Brian was a "larger than life" kind of guy, a true entertainer, comedian, quick witted. He was employed as a chef for many years at different establishments. Most of his career was spent at the El Robote Room at Hartford Jai-Alai. He always had said that some of the best times of his life were spent at Penney High drama club, starring in many plays, including Brigadoon, Carousel, etc. Also at Times Farm camp as a counselor where he had many great experiences. But the best times of his life were spent with his family.

A Celebration of Brian's life will be held at Crossroads Community Cathedral, 1492 Silver Lane, East Hartford, CT 06118 Thursday December 7 at 11 AM

Missing my big bro like crazy...He took me everywhere when I was a youngster, got me my first job at Times Farm camp. Hired me as a dishwasher/cook at the Hartford Jai Alai. We did everything together from shooting pool on his refurbished Brunswick pool table to playing Texas Hold em at least once a month. Getting a motel room next to each other at Misquamicut beach and hanging out doing some crab fishing. Halloween Karaoke parties. Nighttime bonfires. Weekend cookouts. Damn, I'm tearing up. Love you Brian. Thanks for the memories.

So sorry to hear of Brian´s passing. Some of my fondest memories are of rehearsing and performing with Brian back in high school with the band Jamm City. Brian really was `larger than life´. He was the consummate entertainer and had an amazing affable, warm and gregarious personality that never failed to light up a room. He could read a crowd like no one else I´ve ever known and always knew how to make folks smile. Performing with him was a gift I still treasure.
