In memory of
Marie McManus
June 4, 2025
We are shocked and saddened to hear of Brian's untimely passing. I (Marie McManus) met Brian when we worked together in Bourbon Street Restaurant in Stamford, Connecticut in 1988. We became friends and kept in contact ever since. He had a larger than life personality and it grieves me to think that I will never speak with him again. We send our deepest sympathies to his parents Harold and Arlene and of course to his beloved Edgar. We wish you strength in these trying times in coming to terms with your loss. May Brian rest in eternal peace. 'Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a h'anam dílis', an ancient Irish prayer for the dead that translates as 'May his loyal soul sit at God's right hand'. Sincerely, Marie McManus and Antoin Mullen, Dublin, Ireland.

Brian was one of my very best friends. We meet in Jr high school. Through the years we always made time to visit each other, talk on the phone and exchange holiday greetings. It´s still extremely hard to think I will never see him again. To his parents and Edgar, my thoughts and prayers are with you. May your memories be a blessing.

I´ve know Brian since I was 7 years old and he was 5. He was the cutest and most quiet little boy with such a calming spirit. He was witness to his brother Mark proposing to me on my swing set when I was 7 in Utica NY. Our parents were lifelong friends since 1967. When Mark passed away I called Brian and we talked for almost an hour. We were planning to meet when he came to visit his parents on the East Coast next time. I was so excited about that meeting but we never got to meet. I am so saddened about both Mark and Brian. Peace and love to Arlene and Harold. Xo Therese

So heartbroken to hear of my special friend Brian Cheatham passing. Brian and I met at UConn in 1981, and I was friendly with both brothers. After UConn, I urged Brian to join me in San Diego, where we roomed for a time. After moving back east, I was thrilled for Brian that he found true love with his lifetime partner Edgar, who was always so kind when I´d visit, whether in LA or his family´s summer spot in Stone Harbor.
I´ll never forget my good friend, and wish Arlene, Harold, Edgar and family my deepest condolences.
