Elizabethtown, Indiana
Brian D. Heitz, 38, of Elizabethtown, died unexpectedly at 10:58 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Columbus Regional Hospital Emergency Room.
Brian was a tool maker and machinist. He graduated from Jennings County High School in 1990 and Southeastern Indiana Vocational School.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Guy Hardin officiating. Calling will be from 4 p.m. until service time. In keeping with Brian's wishes, cremation is planned.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1971, the son of Larry W. and Barbara Rowlett Heitz. He married Peggy Heitz May 24, 1996 in Columbus.
Survivors include his mother and father, Larry W. and Barbara Rowlett Heitz of Elizabethtown; his wife, Peggy Heitz of Elizabethtown; a son, Matt (Ashley) Hatton; a daughter, Amber Hatton; grandsons Alex and Taylor Hatton; a brother, Darren (Sandy) Heitz and several nieces and nephews, all of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, John F. and Helen Heitz, Steve S. and Clara Rowlett; aunts, Nellie Alvey and Brenda Rowlett; uncles, Randal Heitz, Robert A. Rowlett, James Rowlett and Harold Rowlett.
