Brian Lanier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 28, 2024.
With deepest sorrow, we announce the sudden passing of Brian Lanier, 49, of Florida, in November of 2024. A beloved husband, father, son, brother, and a cherished friend, Brian brought immeasurable light into the lives of everyone who knew him.

Born in 1975 to Donald and Ann in Orange County, Florida, later being raised by Scott and Ann also in Orange County, Florida, Brian's passion for family, music and creativity shaped his life. An enthusiast of both guitar and drums, he shared his love of music with friends and family. Brian was also an avid motorcycle fan, he traveled extensively to see and explore the world, creating memories and adventures, and making friends along the way. His joy for life drew people together, making him the glue of family and friend gatherings alike.

Brian was a dedicated and devoted husband to his wife, Anna, as well as father to his beloved two children, Oliver (6) and Kaya (4). His world centered around his family, and he always found great joy in discovering new adventures with them. Brian's effusive nature and creative spark left an indelible mark on all who knew him. It was always easy for him to form deep, lifelong bonds with the people he met and connected with in life, including his best friend and godfather to Oliver, Tristan, as well as many many others.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; children, Oliver and Kaya; parents Ann and Ken Lamy, and Scott Lanier; siblings Amanda, Justin, and Melissa; niece, Kami; and many additional extended family members. He will be profoundly missed, leaving an everlasting void.

The family has lost half of their income and in lieu of flowers or any other tangible gifts, please consider donating to help with funeral expenses and other unknown future incidentals.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Brian. Although our time working together at Meta/Facebook was brief, his presence left an indelible mark. Brian was a ray of sunshine and creativity that brightened up every space he entered.

My thoughts are with Brian´s family and friends during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Brian. Your creativity and light will be deeply missed.

Regrettably I never had the opportunity to meet Brian but it´s obvious that he was a supernova that left a spark of light with everyone he encountered. It´s also clear that this man was a visionary way ahead of his time as a human anachronism. That video that he made should be how every production should be made as it held every ounce of my attention and now I think I need a bike - before I was never interested in motorbikes - the world is a dimmer place without his light but those that still carry that piece of light he left you never let it diminish.

So many. We used to go to the dog track for a couple races. If we won we would walk across the street to Suzanne's feast on Oysters.

Esteban and I became friends with Anna and Brian not so long ago. But we connected immediately. Those people you can talk all day long. The weekend before Brian passed away, we celebrated our birthdays in my house with the closest friends. Brian and the kids came and we had a blast. Those dinners that we were all laughing and enjoying. Brian was particularly happy that night, he seemed he had fun. The next day, I was walking and he was outside of his house and we chatted about the night before and how good it was the night before. He thanked me and I continued walking.

I will always remember how good he was with Esteban. He told me about the great conversations they had together, that it's really hard to find people like Brian, how good it was biking with him. He misses him so much.

Brian and I were brothers growing up in Central Florida. I have few memories from middle school thru early college that didn´t include Brian. We surfed, raced and worked on dirt bikes, traveled overseas to Brazil together with SPRINT, and had countless adventures together. He was a best man and will be sorely missed. Aaron Lisech

Brian was an integral and loved person on our team. His creativity, thoughtfulness and ability to think through complex messaging, marketing, design challenges, bringing forth impactful yet elegant ways of conveying what was needed through color, layout, text and images was unsurpassed. He also was an amazing person in so many ways.

To Anna, Oliver and Kaya, we cannot image the impact of his passing has on you, but please know how much we care for Brian and valued the time we shared. He is and will continue to be represented in every effort we make in striving to achieve our mission which he was so committed to.

May God bless Brian and you, his family,

Steve, Christian, Ryan and the entire team at Mednition

I knew Brian from Cisco. I was the 'lunch lady' 3 times a week. I kept an eye out for any hidden gluten. My favorite memory of him was his sharing with me that he was going to be a dad. He was so excited and happy and I told him he would be great at it. He was already finding favorite books to read to the kids. His Facebook posts were always positive and filled with the love and pride of his beautiful family. Stay strong.

We are extremely sad to learn of Brians passing. I met and knew Brian through the motorcycling community here in San Francisco 14 years ago, and I had recently had many good conversations with him..He was a kind and sensitive man, who loved his family more than anything.

Brian, your cheerful (in all weather) and loving spirit astounded me. Your amazing energy up lifted me. Your considerate attention to poems and lyrics inspired me.
Your beautiful curly hair when grown long made me jealous. You were tall but not just in height. Your ingenious and creative nature made this world a better place and I am honored to have known and be your friend. We made such fun and great music.
Love you forever my friend.
You´ll never be forgotten and always remembered.
Your friend Jeff and John....
