Brian Miller Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 1, 2024.
Brian Lee Miller passed away at home on June 23, 2024 after a valiant and admirable 15-month battle with Glioblastoma Mutliforme.

Born December 4, 1959 to Frank Edwin and Shirley Anne (Dykes) Miller, Brian was an Air Force brat who moved often, attending a different school every year from 6th to 12th grades, but spent a large amount of his youth near Andrews Air Force Base in MD. He graduated from the University of Arkansas and went straight to work in the finance industry- first at Navy Federal Credit Union, through several mortgage lending institutions, and ending his life's work at Congressional Federal Credit Union as Chief Lending Officer. He genuinely loved his work in the mortgage servicing industry and all those with whom he served. Through his work, Brian made many lifelong friends. He spent a great deal of time imparting his knowledge of the industry, and took great pride in teaching anyone patient enough to listen to his "what you need to do is..." lessons.

Brian leaves behind his daughter Susan (beloved "Ladybug") and her husband Andrew of Shelbyville, KY, Susan's mother Veronica of Manassas, his devoted wife Liz of Reston, his step-children Alexis, Giuliana (Justin), and Rino, his brother Jeff (Jennifer), niece Sydney and nephew Tyler, all of Mountain Home, AR, sister Karen Smith (niece Jenny, nephews Joshua and Zach) of Bellevue NE, favorite Uncle Gary and Aunt Sheila Miller of Orrington, ME, and one more - his Gumdrop, Evelyn Rose.

Brian donated his body to the Anatomy Gifts Registry in pursuit of helping others through medical research. A private service will be held at a later date.

Life will never be the same without this motorcycling collector of shiny objects, our country boy.

Prayers and condolences to the family. Brian and I worked together at Navy Federal and car pooled together for a number of years. We remained in contact as he explored opportunities. A great guy.

Brian and I worked together at Etrade. He was such an amazing person. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him which led to a good friendship. Liz and Susan - you were his world.

I worked with Brain at Navy Federal. He was a great guy and my savior. Anytime there was a lightening storm he came and closed the blinds in my office. Condolences to his daughter Susan.
