Brian Monaghan, husband and best friend of Betty Monaghan passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the age of 77. He suffered for many years with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Brian was born in Edmonton and relocated to Calgary in 1969 to begin a long career in accounting initially working with Hudson's Bay Oil and Gas and then with the takeovers by Dome, Amoco and BP. Retiring at the age of 55 allowed Brian time to renew his passion for genealogy and extensive travelling to many countries, always returning to his favourite Waikiki Beach.
Besides his wife Betty, Brian is lovingly remembered by two daughters Carolyn (Steve) McLaine and Carmel (Jeff) Greene and granddaughters Jordon, Ciara, Kiana, and Aspen Greene.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive and Northland Drive N.W.) on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Agapé Hospice, 1302 8th Avenue NW Calgary, AB T2N 1B8 Telephone: 403-282-6588. Heartfelt thanks to the amazing and compassionate staff and volunteers at Agape Hospice and to Dr. deBruyn who gave exceptional care and support.
In living memory of Brian Monaghan, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

I worked with Brian when I first arrived in Calgary & started work at HBOG in 1969. He was a great guy & we worked well together travelling around Alberta assessing all the O&G properties. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
