To Brian's family and loved ones - I only just received the sad news of Brian's passing. He was a suitemate in Martyrs Court in 1975, a debate partner and friend. Fordham and NYC in the mid-70s was a amazing place to come of age and Brian was an indelible part of those times. My thoughts and prayers are with you for this remarkable man.

To The Mulshine Family: I met Brian in the early 1980's while at NYU with John who actually introduced me to Brian. I enjoyed hanging out with John and Brian and it is so sad that he passed way at such a young age. I hope the memories of Brian will help you endure his passage. May Brian rest in perfect peace and God be with you all during this difficult time.

I met Brian at the Mulshine Family Reunion in Belmar years ago and was struck by his smile and sense of humor, surely foundations for fond lasting memories for all of you who are so lucky to have known him so well for so long.

We are encouraging those interested in making a donation in memory of Brian to send a check to the Central Park Conservancy's Adopt a Bench program. Brian lived near the park and spent considerable time running, biking and enjoying the company of friends in the park. The Adopt-A-Bench program was established in 1986 as a fund to maintain Central Park's more than 9,000 benches and their surrounding landscapes. To date, more than 2,000 benches have been adopted. In recognition of significant contributions to the fund, the Conservancy installs a plaque engraved with a personalized inscription on a park bench. Brian's family will work to ensure that the full amount needed to secure a plaque is raised.

Donations can be mailed to Central Park Conservancy, 14 E. 60th St, New York, NY, 10022 either to the attention of Adopt a Bench or the attention of Hanna Parker. Checks should be made out to the Central Park Conservancy with a note in the memo section saying something like Adopt a Bench for Brian Mulshine (Sorry there is no online option). The conservancy is a non-profit so donations may be tax deductible.

Information about the Adopt a Bench Program can be found at http://www.centralparknyc.org/donate/honor-someone-special/adopt-a-bench.html .

If you are interested in more information about the Adopt a Bench Program, please call 212-310-6617, or e-mail : [email protected].

To my Mulshine cousins: reading the tributes to Brian is inspiring. I'm getting to know him better, so that my memories of his impish smile while we played as kids broaden into a more meaningful image. May his memory be for a blessing! Kevin Mulshine

Bonnie and the whole Mulshine Family:
Pam and I, along with our son, Sean and Sylvia, and the boys all wish you all peace as you navigate these waters. Brian was a wonderful guy and we all miss him. I am sure I feel his loss particularly because I am also and have been an avid runner. Our daughter-in-law and I just completed the Big Sur Half Marathon and I am sure Brian was watching over us there. Take care, and remember the good times, as you mourn his loss! Godspeed!

Thank you all for helping to ease the burden of our shared loss. My brothers and sisters are all deeply touched by your many kind gestures.

Though I worked with you for only 3 months, you were the kindest soul I've ever met. I thank God for having met you, even if for such a brief moment.

On behalf of Principal/Chief Administrator Margaret Williamson and the entire Northwest Catholic High School community, I offer my deepest sympathy on the passing of Brian Mulshine '71.

Brian and his siblings -- Bonnie Mulshine Hinsdale '67, Bob Mulshine '69, Jim Mulshine '70, Joseph Mulshine '74, John Mulshine '76, Mary Teresa Mulshine '81, Marigrace Mulshine Roche '82, and Peggy Mulshine Timoney ‘84 -- belonged to one of the great NWC families of the 1970s and 80s, and to this day remain cherished members of our school community. We share the Mulshines' grief as they mourn the too-early death of their beloved brother, brother-in-law, and uncle -- and dear friend to so many.

Please know that we will remember Brian and all the Mulshines very specially in schoolwide prayer this week and in the days and weeks to come. We are very, very sorry for your loss.
