More than two years on Brian and I still think of you often. Wonder if JS is close by checking scripts and being naughty. Remember your smile and purposeful walk across the newsroom. Xo

The death of John Sorell last week closes a partnership with Brian Naylor who tragically died with wife Moiree in the "Black Saturday" bushfires.John pinched Brian from Chanell 7 in 1978 and together at 9 they dominated Television news in Victoria for 20 years.I had the privilege of working with both men in the nine newsroom for most of those years.
John was an inspiration while Brian helped me overcome the nerves of live TV again after 26 years. I am proud to say we maintained our friendship long after we all retired and mourn their passing knowing both will be sadly missed.Bill Rule

When I was a kid all those years ago I watched 'Brian and the Juniors' - always wanted one of their airforce type caps - never missed a show then I grew up and watched Brian read the news. I was saddened to hear that this had happened. May the Lord embrace you and Moiree. Together with your son oncer more. My sincere condolences to the Naylor family

Brian was the epitomy of an 'Australian gentleman' to me and I used to watch him every night he presented the news with his friendly and genuine smile. I recall him ironically standing in the ruins of Ash Wednesday... little did we know what fate would bring. Very sad to hear of his and Moiree's passing, and our memories of them will live on. Deep condolences to the family.

Like many others I watched "Brian and the Juniors" as a child, I am now 56. It was the normal thing in our home as a child, to watch the news, & when Brian changed network so did we all. It was just so awful knowing that Brian & Moiree had to go this way, how tragic for all the family. I still think of Brian on the news and simply can't get over what has happened. God bless you Brian and Moiree, you are now at peace with your son. The lights have dimmed but the candle still burns bright.

To Greg Naylor and families,
Having lost my Mum 10 months ago, and my Dad last week, my prayers are with you all during these sad times after losing your Mum and Dad so trajically last month.
I remember watching your dad on 'Brian and the Juniors' all those years ago and like many others, changed from channel 7 to channel 9 when Brian changed networks. We had our dinner at news time and felt a great loss when your dad retired.
Greg, keep your chin up, drop in for a cuppa when you're next in town.
Brian can now read the news in heaven with my mum and dad both listening along side him.
Take care,
Margaret and family

From the days of The Swallows Juniors,
to signing off his final news broadcast...
"May your news, be good news",
Brian Naylor was a part of everyday life for Victorians. For most of my life, each evening Brian came into our loungeroom and with such dignity delivered the news.
Like many Victorians, I feel I have lost a family member. My thoughts and prayers go out to Brian and Moirees' family.
Vale Brian Naylor!

To Brian Naylor and his wife and of course his families. I live in W.A and only knew him on T.V as a presenter. He was very charismatic and still so full of life. I think life is so unfair.. why weren't they spared but others miraculously survived??.

"Brian told me so.... ".
For so many years Brian graced our television sets in our homes and he was part of the family. His dedication to his work and those around him was second to none.
Will we ever see news people of the claibre of Brian and the late Sir Eric Pearce ever again ?
I think not such men are irreplaceable.
May your news be good news...
Goodbye and Rest In Peace Brian and Moiree.

I never met Brian Naylor - but I grew up with him in my life and in my home. He had a reassuring smile as he told me what had happened that day - the good and the bad. Somehow, with Brian, everything would be okay because he had that 'something'. He was what you wanted your Grandpa to be - he was part of the family to me - and many others.
I wish I had met him - if only just to say 'thank you' for the time he spent in our home.
Rest In Peace Brian and Moiree - and thank you.

I met Brian Naylor only the once, when he opened my first high school bank account for the SSB in 1961, with Madelaine Bourke.
From then on I felt I knew him and was delighted to have him at our home each night for the news. And Knew everything I needed to know 'cause "Brian told me"
May I express my appreciation for his life and rest assured he is well remembered by all who met him. If it be true that a loss shared is lightened then let me take my share of yours

He had a knowledgeable, intelligent, warm hearted sincerity that I didn't question.
When aged seven I remember seeing him praising an 11 year old guitarist on tv, saying he had a future as a professional. Partly because of Brian Naylors believable stature, an hour or so later I'd decided what to do the rest of my life & asked mum for a guitar for Christmas. (50 years later its still the only job I do)
Anyway, probably many of us could look back & find moments when Brian influenced an important decision we made.
Thanks for your good effect on those around you Brian, you deserved a so much better departure. RIP
