OFFENBERGER, Brian Philip
May 30, 1966 - April 24, 2015
Brian Offenberger, precious son of Allan and Marg Offenberger, beloved brother of Gary (Maureen, Katy, Matthew, Claire) passed away on April 24, 2015 of bladder cancer. He is lovingly remembered by uncle Ray Beaver (Mike and Theresa, Shawn, Shannon); aunt Betty Patterson (Wil and Dana, Greg); aunt Joyce Patterson (Pat, Beverly, Colleen and Dave) and extended relatives. Brian was predeceased by his grandmothers Ivy Offenberger and Florence Patterson, uncles Tom and Barry Patterson, aunt Marilyn Beaver and treasured friend Morley Shannon.
Brian was born in Massachusetts May 30, 1966, coming to Edmonton in 1968 with his parents. Brian was born with many physical disabilities that he had to endure throughout life. He was blessed with a loving, caring, giving personality that endeared him to everyone. Brian's spirit and love influenced all who met him; his was a life with special meaning.
He travelled widely in North America and Europe with his parents and participated in a variety of local activities including volunteer, choral and physical exercise. He was a keen follower of local sports teams. Brian particularly enjoyed summer trips to visit relatives and family friends in BC and looked forward to swimming opportunities. His last holiday trip was to Hawaii with his extended family to celebrate Mom and Dad's 50th anniversary in 2013.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and hospital staff who cared for Brian in his final months.
A Memorial Service for Brian will be held at South Side Memorial Chapel (8310-104 Street, Edmonton) on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. To honour him, we request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alberta Cancer Society.

Brian was a dedicated volunteer and was always willing to try a new task. Despite Brian's physical struggles, he was always just happy to be part of the community, contributing in any way he could. Deepest condolences to his family who were his biggest advocates. Rest in Peace Brian.
