Brian POCKAR

Brian is a beautiful and special soul. I had the good fortune to get to know him in 1983 as a fellow participant in the Canadian contingent to Olympia, Greece. Thank-you for these memories of Brian again.

I idolized Brian when I was growing up in Calgary. I still remember seeing him in Professional Skate - the original one on 14th Street. He was probably getting his skates sharpened. I was with my mom, picking out something for figure skating. I was about ten years old and I was so thrilled he was there. He smiled at me warmly, seeing my reaction. I'll never forget it.

I was priviliged to have had a conversation with Brian Pockar on the plane back from TO after my mother's funeral, and found him to be a very personable person and thoroughly enjoyed his skating and accomplishments.I also touched on him having hosted the Canadian Figure Skating competitions as a sidekick to Johnny Esaw, those were memorable moments.

As a young girl my passion was figure skating. I remember watching Brian skate, following his aspiring career. He was such a talent. Please know he has touched many lives, including mine and he has never been forgotten.
