Brian Josef Wilkes of Glen Ridge, NJ passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 with his wife and his mother by his side. He was 54 years old.

Brian was born at Columbia Hospital for Women in Washington, D.C. on April 9, 1969 to Duane Wilkes and Trude Kemp.

Brian is survived by his wife, Nadine Pappas-Wilkes and his daughter Nadine Wilkes. He is also survived by his parents, Trude Kemp and Duane Wilkes (Gail). He leaves behind his siblings, Lisa Anglemyer (Craig), Christopher Kemp (Leslie), Leslie Carcaterra (Vin), Matthew Kemp (Amanda), and Tammie Capponi along with several nieces and nephews.

Brian grew up in Southern Maryland. He was a 1988 graduate from Chopticon High School.

Brian was a Regional Distribution Center Manager, Logistics Specialist and Project Manager for several General Electric companies. For many years, he owned and operated his own handyman business. working on both residential and commercial properties. Brian became a Master Mariner and thoroughly enjoyed traveling as a ship captain.

Brian had many things he loved in life. Some of his favorite things included scuba diving, loud music, boating, the beach and having a good time.

Brian will be missed greatly by those who loved him.

Cremation was entrusted to O'Boyle Funeral Home at 309 Broad Street Bloomfield, NJ.

The family plans to make memorial arrangements at a later date.
