BRIDGET A. MADISON, 61 FREEPORT - Bridget A. Madison, 61, of Freeport, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at Presence St Joseph Nursing Center with her family by her side. Born February 3, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri; she was the daughter of Thomas G. and Harriet R. (Burdette) Butler. She married Gary Madison March 20, 1976. Bridget graduated from Freeport School of Nursing. She committed herself to Nursing and helping others. She was retired from Family Medical Center in Freeport. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Illinois Nurses Association, and Ladies Auxiliary of the Freeport Eagles. An avid reader she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Surviving is her husband, Gary of Freeport; her children, Eric P. Madison of Freeport, Jon T. (Wendy) Madison of Rockford, Katherine M. (Berin) Jackson of Freeport, and Elizabeth A. Madison of Chicago; 2 grandchildren, Brayden H. and Harper A. Jackson of Freeport; her sister, Colleen (Scott) Anderson of Freeport; her brother, Shawn (Brenda) Butler of Rockford. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Thomas and Kevin Butler; nieces, Kristen and Hillary Anderson. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. There will be a gathering for friends and relatives 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2013, at Walker Mortuary. Interment of her cremated remains will be in the Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Freeport Catholic Schools. Please visit www.walkermortuary.com to leave a condolence.
