Brie Bird Obituary
Bird rose to prominence through heartfelt videos and posts about her cancer journey on the family's Instagram account, @briestrongerthancancer, where she built a devoted global following of more than a million people.
After she was diagnosed in 2020 with an aggressive form of childhood cancer, her family at first celebrated a period of remission in 2022 before the disease returned in January 2024. In 2025, as her condition worsened, Bird chose hospice care, surrounded by family, and her mother honored her wish to remain at home during her final months.
Her fight and unaffected optimism resonated with people around the world. Among them was pop star Ariana Grande, of whom the young social media star was a fan. When Grande heard of Bird's love of her music and her hit movie, "Wicked," she sent the young girl a package of "Wicked"-inspired stuffed animals, makeup, perfume, and other gifts, along with a handwritten message. Bird's enthusiastic unboxing video of the gifts was a hit with her followers.
Another touching moment came in November 2025, when Bird shared a video in which she lip-synched to "Defying Gravity," the popular song from "Wicked," while the caption confirmed that she had made it to see the new release of "Wicked: For Good."
Throughout her illness, Bird's courage and honesty inspired families facing similar struggles and raised awareness of the challenges children with neuroblastoma and their caregivers endure. Even in her final months, she delighted followers with moments of joy whenever she could.

I can´t express how sorry I am that Brielle has passed. She was such a beautiful girl with a beautiful smile and a sense of humor that would brighten any day. I loved her videos of her getting ready for the day, some were comical. She felt like family, a distant granddaughter. Thank you for sharing her with us. Prayers and love for your family. She will not be forgotten.

Brie was proof there are angels among us. A shining example of children with illness that still hold the hand of God, and display strength and love to remind us what matters with life. I have followed you from Australia for sometime - had an amazing experience back in July/August when Brie was very very low - I began to pray - laying hands on the phone - I felt a surge of power go down my arms - next morning when I woke to my astonishment I saw that Brie had gotten out of bed and gone to School - amazing - Thank you JESUS.
