Obituary:

Brittany Rhea Garton (nee Thompson) was born on May 1, 1985, in West Berlin, Germany, to Tommy Jr and Linda Thompson. She passed away on February 28, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 38. Brittany was a beloved wife to Mark, a devoted mother to Alex, and a cherished sister to Tommy III. She was also survived by her in-laws Rex, Sandy, and Brian Garton, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Tommy and Betty Thompson and her maternal grandparents George and Gertrude Rhea. Her furry companions, Sir Puppington Barksworth, Echo, Frisky Business, and White Tail, brought her immense joy.

Brittany was known for her loving and kind nature, her exceptional cooking skills, and her intelligence. She was a talented individual with a passion for theatre, sewing, cooking, and travel. Brittany pursued her education at Montgomery Central High School and Tennessee State University. She dedicated her career to Dell Technologies until 2022.

A ceremony to honor and remember Brittany will be held at Mt Olivet Funeral Home and Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee. The funeral home was privileged to assist the family with the arrangements during this difficult time.

Brittany will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her husband, daughter, family, friends, and colleagues. May she rest in peace.

My few memories are that Brittany had a way of looking right into someones eyes when she talked. I loved that about her and her super big smile. She was a joy at our last Christmas party, laughing and bringing her special kind of light into the room. My heart breaks for the family, especially for Mark. God be with this good man, please. Hold Linda, my beautiful Sister in law, as well as the rest of her family in your arms of peace. That peace that passes understanding. That peace that lives inside..Much love for family and friends. Love Aunt Rose.
