Brittany Hansen

Brittany Risha Rose "Sofi Rhea" Hansen, 26, of Vandergrift, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015, in her home. Born July 6, 1989, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of Janice L. (Oplinger) Hansen, of Allegheny Township, and Keith E. Hansen, of Parks Township. She lived in Vandergrift most of her life, attended Kiski Area High School and graduated from Newark High School in New York. Brittany was a free spirit with a creative soul. She loved to write music, play the guitar and drums, paint, make her own clothes designs and collect gems. In addition to her parents, Brittany is survived by her sisters, Mandy L. Querio, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Candis Jo (brother-in-law, Tommy Libengood), of Parks Township; niece, Caylin "Opie" Libengood, of Parks Township; maternal grandmother, Norma A. "Gram" Oplinger, of Vandergrift; grandparents, Rich and Betty Kamada, of Tarentum; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, "Pappy Opie" Clifford Oplinger; and paternal grandmother, Mary Hansen. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015, in the BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES INC., 429 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift. Services will be held at noon Friday, July 17, 2015, in St. Paul's Highfield Lutheran Church, Parks Township, with the Rev. Richard Grance officiating.
