in memory, not forgotten

Bruce, I was so shocked to hear you have passed on and are now with God. I have such wonderful memories of being young with you and our friends Ken, Kenny Ma, and George, going to youth group at church, hiking on Mont St. Hilaire, camping in Mont Tremblant Park. Dinner at my house with friends. I still have such great pictures of those times, and the fun and laughs we shared. Your funny little giggle I can still hear you laughing. You were a good friend to me when I needed one, and I will never forget you always made time to call and check in with me from time to time. I'm only sorry I'm to late to call you to say hello. May the Lord bless you and may you be with him in peace in heaven. God bless.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Bruce when we were co-workers at a call center. Bruce was one of the sweetest person I knew. We had a lot of pleasant conversations. I even called him my elder brother because of his last name. He even taught me to play rummy.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help at this time.

Our dear friend Bruce,
We all met you at TAPP (The Anti-Poverty Project). Your friendship is what we take forward with us all. Your ability to teach us all was a gift you shared that left us trusting and appreciating your friendship. You often took the initiative to organize a lunch for the staff at TAPP that made us bond and get to know each other better. This was important to you and it made our time together that much more enjoyable. Your leadership in organizing social activities always included ensuring that each persons needs were met including stopping at Tim Horton’s so that Sadia would have her morning coffee before we went up into the Gatineau’s for a bike ride. What you were able to do with so little was due to your resourcefulness and creativity. You had so many contacts from previous jobs that you were able to call upon to enhance our surroundings. But most of all, you gave of yourself. You were able to help all your friends by sharing your resources, experience, knowledge and your intellect. The joy that you brought to us has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated. The trip to the Gatineau, the sugar bush, the IMAX theatre, the shopping malls, etc are all memories of the time we spent together. On a personal note, all the time we spent together at the golf courses and driving range provided incredible laughter and happiness. Already I miss you dearly as I wonder what this year’s golf season will be like without you.
Bruce, we want you to know how much you affected our lives in such a short time. A few of us have been able to move on from your teachings of computers and make a living based on what you imparted with us. And the support you provided when we went looking for work was unprecedented. You were so happy for us when we shared our news of finding that first computer job. You were so unselfish in your support and genuinely happy for those of us like Bob and Nura who could get work.
But for me, what I will remember most and the gift you taught me is of your appreciation for the simple pleasures that surround us each day. Like getting together to talk and simply enjoying each other's company. Your gift to really appreciate the here and now by sharing your observations of the scenes around us made spending time with you like going to a museum with a curator each time. I’ll always remember the compassion you showed when a young bird crashed into a window while we had coffee on the patio. You took the bird and cared for it in it’s final moments. Watching you enjoy your tea and cookies brings smiles to my face. You once said that a person could only eat so much but watching you enjoy what you had at that moment in time was priceless. You are a dear friend to many and may god bless you.
