I just saw the Obituary for Bruce Capristo and was stunned! I worked for Bruce and Maurice, at Salan Plaza, in Downtown Pittsburgh. I loved working for them...Bruce was a great Boss! He made each workday fun! I felt special being the only female in the shop! I left to open my own shop in Dormont, only to sell the shop a few years later to stay home and be a mom. We have three children, and five grandchildren. 43 yrs. ago we moved to Phoenix, Arizona...now this is home!

Carole was always a sweet person! I enjoyed working together at the Salon Jimmy owned (can't remember its name).

RIP Bruce. Carole your in my prayers.

I remember Bruce convincing my Italian mother to let me get some temporary red highlights when I was 16. He was embodied sunshine, and his warmth and love for life were infectious.

God bless you, Bruce.

While viewing my old neighborhood on N. Fourth St., Duquesne on Google Earth, I remembered Bruce and that my brother Bob, a hair stylist, had told me years ago he had run into Bruce and he was a stylist also. I thought he was probably in business and I might find him with an online search. I was saddened to learn of his passing.
I remembered Bruce and I playing together and his grandmother scolding him for taking his bicycle down the steps onto the sidewalk out front. Since she spoke only Italian, "bicycle" was the only word I could understand, but I sure understood the message. Bruce's father, Frank, cut my hair and my Dad's. I was very young back then, but Bruce was always a warm part of my memories. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Please accept my sincere condolences.

To the entire Capristo family:

We are all so lucky to have known someone of such great quality, integrity and warmth. Working along side Bruce was really a gift. It never felt like he was above anyone else, we were all equal. He worked as hard if not harder than the next person. He genuinely cared for the well being of everyone he came in contact with. It's people like Bruce that make it easy for me to serve my country in the USAF.

Love you all.

To the Capristo family at home and at work,

Bruce was a great man. So talented and warm. He had a great sense of pride in himself and his work. He made me proud to work for him. It felt good knowing that the man who signed my paycheck, worked just as hard as all of us,with us, everyday. He had integrity. I know we are miss him and one day we will get to see his handsome smiling face again.

Dearest Cheech and Boys,

Your Bruce was one of the most amazing people, his sense of humor and his love for his family was second to none. Some of my fondest memories are of "the Gourmet Club", Angel's Acres, etc. etc. You guys REALLY knew how to party. Bruce will never be forgotten...

January 25, 2006

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Bruce. Bruce was one year behind me in Duquesne High School and our paths haven’t crossed since. But I have often thought of him in that he was the one who introduced me to my wonderful wife of 44 years, Beverly (Polinsky) All. We had some good times back then and he was just one of those “cool” guys. Our prayers go out to him, his wife and family.

To the Capristo family:

I am sending sympathy on behalf of my mother, Peggy Bugrin, who was one of Bruce's very early customers over 40 years ago when he worked downtown. I saw the obituary and knew the name immediately because my mom used to have Bruce cut mine and my sister's hair when we were about 5 and 6 years old. We were the only two little girls with "pixie" haircuts which was so stylish back in the early 60s ! Bruce was ahead of his time with creative styles.

As a little girl, I remember him being so handsome and so fun to be around. Reading the other guest book entries, I see how his wonderful personality continued throughout his entire life. You were so blessed with him. I just wanted to share my memories of him and again, express deep sympathy from my mom, Peggy Bugrin.
