Mr. Douglas always made time to chat and joke with me and make me feel welcome when I was just a kid at their home, visiting with their youngest daughter. My thoughts are with Anne and the family.

Dr. Bruce Douglas was an educator, philanthropist, and entrepreneur for all seasons. I meet Bruce through his keen interests in the Crummer Graduate School of Business, Orlando Museum of Art, United Arts of Central Florida, and the many other benefactions he had along with his wife Dee. As a gesture of thanks for his many Good Works, I sent him a special bottle of Markham Vineyards "The Philanthropists" wine. I should have known Bruce was a connoisseur of fine wine and the gift exchange went back and forth for several years. We were delighted to purchase and distribute Bruce´s book, An Entrepreneur is for All Seasons for our Innovation Library, as gifts to those who visited the Foundation. Bruce was a problem solver and I and those fortunate to know him benefited greatly from his advice.

Memories of him water skiing with ease while singing a song, guiding me up a tow rope my first time skiing with his youngest daughter, and watching him enjoy a hot air balloon ride. My thoughts are with Anne and her family during this difficult time.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. Please take comfort in the words found at 2nd Thessalonians 2: 16, 17.

A tribute to Bruce Douglas, a man of honor and courage, who became a very successful business man without losing his strong person ethics and his faith in God. I grew up with my brother, Bruce Douglas, in a loving family inspired by parents who taught us by their lives, the joy of reading, sharing ideas, working together and helping others. Dear Bruce, I miss you already and look forward to the time when we are together with the Lord.
Your loving sister, Jean Douglas Clarkson

I met Bruce during my interview for the job here at the Rollins Museum of Art almost a decade ago - and he was key to my getting the job. Later, he joined the museum's Board of Advisors; I am thankful for being able to learn from him, for his generosity of spirit and his many talents. My deepest condolences to Dee and the family.
