DrHarris was a blessing to all he came in contact with. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from him as a medical student from 1995-1999. He not only taught good medicine but more importantly he taught medical students compassion and humility. Blessings to his family.

Bruce was not only a superb Obstetrician but a wonderful mentor to all of the medical students at UABSOM, serving many years as the Assistant Dean for Students. A learned and accomplished absolute gentleman, he was a wonderful role model and advocate for the students. He will be missed.

Bruce, we are going to miss you! Thank you for being a positive part of my life and for your companionship with my mother. You are the nicest man that I have known.
Family occasions and holidays will not be the same. Someone will definitely pick up your torch and read from the Psalms at Christmas in honor of you.
You were also very important to my children and played a larger role in their lives than you could have imagined. They are very sad that their "grandfather" has passed.
God bless you, my friend.

Dear Professor,
Thank you for the words of wisdom, the smile that never left your face, and the endless stories that always provided a solution to any issue or problem. Thank you for taking time to always stop by the unit desk to render that that ever so famous phrase... "good morning, good afternoon, or good evening" ladies! You brought laughter and sincere kindness to people everywhere. Rest in peace dear friend. You will be missed!

Dr. Bruce Harris was my dear friend and esteemed colleague. We worked together "long-distance" during the years he was Professor in Tuscaloosa and Huntsville and "shoulder-to-shoulder" while he and I shared Maternal-Fetal-Medicine duties at UAB. We socialized together, co-authored many scientific publications, and shared many enjoyable moments. Bruce was a true renaissance man whose knowledge knew few limitations. He was always the "life of the party." Like many others, I loved Bruce and shall miss him terribly.

I had the honor of working with Dr. Harris as the Medical Staff Coordinator at UAB for many, many years. He was a delight to work with on the Credentials Committee and always had so many interesting, educational comments on our applicants! He loved his precious wife so much. Dr. Harris was a vanishing breed of physician and I was blessed by having known him.
